    Thanks @Skint_yet_Again
I agree crisps and wine are good for the soul but maybe not for my expanding backside! I'm going to stick to single servings of both for now :)

Thanks @savingwannabe. You have form so I know you can do it! I've been less successful at budgets but will try my hardest :)

Not doing too badly and today has been a NSD despite the urge for popping to the shops for crisps and wine!

I have an expensive train ticket coming up and I've laundry costs tomorrow but food is my downfall and I've made soup and have enough food in to avoid impulse shops...

I bought some 100% chocolate 'sweetened' with coffee nibs...won't be doing that again in a rush...

A this and that day. Planning, organising, cleaning and cooking. Nice to have that sort of day with nothing I 'have' to do :)

As it's nicer weather, turn your wine into a spritzer, longer drink and single serve would make two of them.
Didn't you make your own veg crisps before? Maybe when you've got another day like today, you could have them baking while you're pottering around.
Hope you manage to find the ticket at a better price than expected.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

I love a weekend when you just do housework. The weather has been brilliant we needed this.

  • Well I'm back. I ran up a small cc debt that I'm trying to clear before the demand deadline then I will start a new savings plan. It is good to have a place to chart my savings plans. I know what I need to do, I've been on the MSE boards a long time. I just need to do it.  :)

Encouragement and support is welcome, as saving on a small income is hard.

Not having savings led to my CC debt. The money was used to pay for storage costs as I expected to have a new home by now. I have to find £300 by next week, then I can begin to save. I closed my CU account as getting through was impossible. (155) I'm owed money (100) and I have 45 in my account, so just to get the money owed and all will be done. I will be starting with £50 a month and adding any small savings to move over as well.

I would really like to have at least £500 put by and eventually £1,000
