A chilled day today just pottering and playing. Tomorrow we see the man in red/green and theatre so I am very excited for that.
Most Christmas food has been purchased apart from some veg we need to buy closer to the day.

A chilled day here today with my friend over, its so cold when the front door gets opened! Lots of tea, coffee and chocolate in my house today.
469.50 overpaid to the mortgage today so once my December normal payment goes through I should be under 135k which was my aim so I am very happy with that.
We need to do some more work on the other house so I have put some money aside for that and OH will get quotes and get this arranged in January.

Congratulations on reaching your target!
Keep up the liquid refreshments and start planning next year.
Most of all, enjoy the holidays.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -
Thanks MF,
I think I have a rough plan re mortgage OPs and investments now after looking at figures today.
-When I remortgaged back in Aug 2019 my monthly payment was 935.19 with a term of 18 yrs.
-We then rearranged this over a 28 year term to get our committed amount down to 600.32 but still made it up to the 935 to keep the original term.
-Remortgaged Nov 21 and have a commitment if 452....although this is still based on the longer term.
-we are 2 yrs 4 months into our 'real' 18 Yr mortgage.....so let's call that 3 yrs and say the term is 15 years left. (why not shave a bit off here and there! )
-to keep a 15yrterm I need to pay an extra 350pm to the mortgage... So that will now happen every month.
-I would ideally like to get the mortgage done and dusted in just under 10 years and therefore need to pay an extra 375 pm to get it down to a 10 Yr term... As my mortgage rate is so low, this is the money each month I will work very hard to pay into EF or investment..
That is the plan..... We will see what happens in a few months.
This will start from my Jan pay packet (BTL costing dependant).

Thank you SYA,
Well that was a whirlwind. A lovely one and 2 very happy boys but over so fast considering the amount of preparation.
I have put 400 aside for the work on the BTL from my early Dec paypacket. As mentioned to MF I have been constantly looking at spreadsheets... My problem is I have lots I would like to achieve with my money and could do them all individually with hard work and commitment but just can't do all of the all if that makes sense. I am just trying to find the balance like everyone but keep changing my focus.
Finally got round to submitting my tax returns today for me and OH... Every year I think I will get it done so it doesn't hang over me and every year it hangs over me... Perhaps the next one will be different!
Priorities:
1) Sort the BTL (OH to get quotes)
1)EF... Stop messing and start filling, I need my cosy blanket back!
2) exciting plans to save for ivfwe have been blessed with 2 ivf babies so far (one of the reasons our mortgage is not lower!) and are incredibly fortunate to maybe try for a 3rd (which would twist our financial focus somewhat but we will have to see what happens and keep our fingers and toes very tightly crossed). I am not getting any younger so we don't want to wait 2 long.
Hope everyone is well and pleased I can share my exciting plans.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650.
