Just thought I would drop in to give a quick update....
Finances are going OK although we are potentially facing another massive bill for the BTL. EF is still holding out, pension contributions are up to 10% for me and we are both putting a little into Lisa's each month. I need to get a handle on OHs pension but was waiting until he had a full month's salary and a bit more settled before doing this. He has applied for a promotion already and we will find out if he gets that tomorrow which will all help.
Mortgage balance currently 138049.22 and tempting to push to get it under 138k this month but I know at this point a boost to the EF is wiser given the BTL costs. I have been working to get the mortgage interest to under £10 a day and it's now £9.98 so that target has been hit. Once the BTL and EF settles and roof is paid I have a few more targets up my sleeve to help push me forward. These are:
-op by 10k (currently 9537.26, not that I'm counting)
-get ltv to 50%(132,500 so 5549.22) to go
-monthly interest under £300 pm (when looking at annual interest and /12...balance needs to be 136, 360
-pay another 10,049.22 to 'own' my living room and kitchen
My son is doing well and we have just made it to 8 weeks without illness which had been incredible. He is eating and sleeping better and we have had a few nights away as a family treat.
Also potentially looking to get our conservatory roof changed.... Need to get costings.
Hope everyone is well and making positive progress.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Fingers crossed for the promo.
Mortgage is coming down quite quickly, considering you've not had it that long. There's plenty of time to make more dents in it after the BTL is sorted out.
It's great news about your little one, hopefully he's on a better road since the op and continues to go from strength to strength.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.2 -

Blimey took me a little while to locate us this evening.
Things have been going a bit hectic and I don't feel as in control of spending atm as I did, maybe as things open up a bit and we start to do more it's the spending part that comes with it I need to try and get a grip on.
Next week we have a rather large electric bill to pay for the other house but we are making progress on getting through all the work and it could of been 3 times as high so we have to keep pushing forward with that. Unfo EF will suffer for this but this does need to be paid and I am happy I am not just squandering it away.
Some good news on my pension, I have found a way to manage it with less costs (saving.0.7%)so I am currently arranging all of that and looking forward to having it all in place. I am still paying 10% to my pension and Lisa's are getting a little but each month. Still to sort pension for OH but progress is progress.
I have been doing OT at work so I should see some of that in my paypacket this month, shame it will be going towards an electric bill but will reduce the impact on our EF.
My little man is in to week 11 of being well (fingers crossed), he is coming along well and we have been moved to a 6 monthly apt with his consultant which is amazing as it was min of once a month.
We are currently self isolating due to a positive case in my so s bubble so vack to juggling home schooling, work and no childcare support for a bit whictbh is hard going but it's only for a short time do getting my head down and ploughing through.
Hope everyone is well.

I think you are very organised - paying into pensions is brilliant investing in your other house is good too even if it costs in the short run. Well done on OT. Sorry you are self isolating i hope it passes quickly. Stay strong.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222
