So interesting and well done @longway2go
There was an interesting programme on the radio about women and investing. It seems we save the most but do less well as men save less but invest more. Also we think we don't understand investing but when tested we know more than we think we know.
Once I get my self a bit more settled investing is something I will definitely be looking into.

Yes unfortunately inflation eats away at savings and therefore the real value drops. Investing helps it grow. Tbh even with my knowledge (I have qualifications in finance) I was surprised at how easy it is and thought it was for people who already had wealth but realise now that is not the case.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Money makes money LW2G. Starting small, build up confidence and knowledge, then increase. It's not always about having wealth to begin with but being able to not panic if things drop and wait for them to improve.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3

Do you know the Money Principle? That is what this site is about investing, money etc for women, the lady that runs it knows her stuff and was one of my heroines in MSE over 10 years ago.
I dont know anything and would love it if someone could recommend how to start it as i am just in banks and it is earning a pittance.Aiming for a minimal spend 20222 -
Hi SW,
I haven't heard of the Money Principle tbh. Is it a website?
I have some sites that give free shares if you would like me to give you details let me know. I would be happy to share the knowledge I have with you so if you have any questions please feel free to message me or ask. 🙂
I think tbh things become clearer when you set up a share account and it also is much easier to explain with specific examples. My little man has now had his op, he has coped so well and we are seeing positive signs already. I am really hoping this is a start of a new life for him but it is 2 early to tell yet. As a family we currently feel calmer.
Money wise, things are ticking alogg and have been told that hubby may get some pay this month. It will also be the first month where 10% of my salary goes to pension so interesting to see how it all works out.
