I am thinking that when my OH starts his job and gets pension details it might be a good idea to get a good contribution set up b4 we get used to having the wage. I will also review mine.
I am writing it here to be accountable.
A pretty chilled day here, going to be strange having OH around for the weekends as normally he works every Saturday.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Sounds like a good plan, same with any payrises apportion it between now, the future and retirement and it should all tick along nicely.
Provide OH a list of tasks so he's not under your feet 😉Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Today I have been doing a bit of adulting.
I have a few small holdings in shares (started off with free shares and then gradually building up). I have decided to look when the dividends are paid and try to understand the value of them a bit more. I might start looking to build it up a bit so that eventually I get a dividend payment each week then maybe each day but that depends on the returns etc so lots to look into but thought it might give me a good push in the investments side.
I have also asked for work to up my pension conts from 3 to 10%. I would like to get to 15% eventually but going to see how this works out with the budget and settle it in before making any further changes. My work contribute 6%.
Will also be looking to start quite high % conts for hubby in his new job so that the money is gone before we miss it.
This will mean less to direct towards the EF. I think this is the right move for us as we can still look to build the EF but currently do have a nice security blanket.
Trying to catch up with some work today.
Hope everyone is well.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. That's more than a bit of adulting! Keep us updated.
Don't forget the tax allowance has increased, it's an extra few quid in your pocket each month which will help your budgets to balance a little easier.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -

Thanks, I may have confused you. Dividends can be paid annually, bi Annualy or monthly. What I mean is looking at having a range of investments so something pays you something each day. I am not an adviser but do have a pretty good understanding so if you ever need yo know anything more than happy to help if I can 🙂
