Just a quick note to say all is well here currently, been sorting through the kids clothes which has kept me busy. Lots going in the loft, having 2 boys means we don't really buy much for my second son.
Money wise EF is edging to 8k so I am going to see if I can push it to that ASAP as I feel that my cosy blanket is getting there now. The mortgage has gone under the next 10k bracket.. I am waiting for it to show on my online banking and get a confirmed figure before updating my signature but feel like we are making headway on both directions which I am very pleased about.
I hope everyone is well. Aiming to catch up with some diaries soon.

Well done on clearing & packing stuff into the loft lw2go. I need to go through my wardrobe and part with some stuff I don’t wear.

Really well done, on sorting clothes out. It is a good feeling to do this. Your EF is brilliant exactly what Dave Ramsay says and really well done on hitting the digits on the mortgage.

Thank you everyone. I was originally aiming for 12k, I am feeling increasingly comfortable. It sounds like a high amount but we have a young family, highish mortgage and a BTL so lots to protect. I am actually reading the DR book atm which is helping me stay motivated around pushing the EF up.
Mortgage now 139,973.13 so officially under the next 10k bracket but waiting for interest to be added and main payment to be taken early next month to get a true understanding.
Such a lovely day here today, we went to the park for 2 hours and have just eaten lunch outside.  Tonight is a bbq  which I am so looking forward to. Might have a cheeky gin to celebrate what we have achieved to date.
House needs a clean but that's not what sunny days are for.
Have a good day everyone :-)

£12k is a good figure and provides that breathing space. You're doing well reducing the mortgage too.
Enjoy the BBQ and have that gin, it's long overdue.

Unfortunately we have had some bad news today, oh has lost his job. He is actively looking for another one and although I'm frustrated and hoping he gets one very soon I am not panicked (which I would have been before having the EF). I am so glad we have the EF in place.... Now for damage limitation to our security blanket which currently sits at just over 8k.
Mortgage figure update in the next few days.
