Hello,
All been a bit crazy here lately. The boys spots are still viable but clearing and they are both OK. We have been homeschooling which is going really well and the way its done gives my son a chance to see his friends and real structure which is fantastic for him but does take a large amount of adult input. I have no issue with that but it's quite tiring balancing that amongst everything else.
We have moved forward with the house and it now seems the original builder (known by family) is able to do the work. He has quoted us and is able to start this week if the Tennant is in agreement (hopefully he will be) as he is able to stay there while the work is going on. He has quoted 2 days work and given us a list of items he will complete in that time. So we will see how it goes.
Hope everyone is OK.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. It sounds like you are doing really well with the home learning. Well done. I teach older age groups but if i can help in any way please PM me. My builder is retiring and I wish he wasnt! You are v lucky to know a good one. You have more time to plan for the project which is great and the weather will be nicer too i hope.Aiming for a minimal spend 20223

Thank you so much SW that is incredibly kind of you and I really appreciate the offer
Yesterday I decided to take the boys out on their scooters over to my mums as I felt that fresh air would do us all some good. It is quite a way (2 miles) but they did pretty well considering their ages, last night my smallest little man developed a temperature... So frustrating for him and us as he doesn't get much let up and each time means our childcare support stopsbwhich make things that much harder (sorry all I seem to do is moan). He's not to bad in himself atm thankfully.
Homeschooling starts again in the morning, it would be really helpful if the work could come a bit earlier so bits can be spread out but it's the way it is so hoping for a light day of work tomorrow.
Building work is still on hold.
EF is up a bit...OHs car ins and my MOT are due in Feb, along with some changes to wages and tax so hard to plan for the month but will do the best I can as soon as I understand what we are being paid. I am hoping to get some ins quotes today and get some CB but we will see how that works out.
Mortgage is currently 140,914 and am excited about seeing it drop the next 10k bracket although I am determined not to impact EF/building savings to do this (although it's hard lol). My extra that normally goes to the mortgage to keep the term to its original length or less is being diverted to EF temporarily. Each 10k bracket we get through we have said that my OH and me will have a nice meal out which will be nice when things open up a bit.
All in all though we are moving forward.Mortgage Aug 2019 161,000 :eek::eek::eek:Nov 2019 156,500:T Jan 2020 153,122:T, Apr 2020 149,500, Apr2021 139, 675, Oct 2021 136,823, Dec 2021 136,120🙂EF 0/12,000 (0%)😕 (5062.44 was ERC), Jan 2023 128,650. Poor little man, hope he feels better soon.
Are you budgeting in advance and then just moving things around as and when?
Can you budget based on worst case scenario for the year, then when it's good money months buy or do additional things you've put off?
Your mortgage is coming down nicely 🤗Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
Poor kid! I have a horrible childhood memory of having chickenpox and gastroenteritis at the same time, but I think kids seem to shake these things off much faster than we can.
I love the idea of treating yourself when you hit mortgage milestones.4
