Well as I expected, the transfer back to Scottish Power (who were my last but 2 supplier), has resulted in them transposing my economy 7 meter readings.  I banged my head against a brick wall with them before about this, switched away to Ebico, they were worse than useless also, I had to take it to the ombudsman before the transposition was sorted. Everything was OK with Yorkshire Energy, but SP have screwed it up.
Given that we have gas central heating, and only use overnight electric to run the washing machine and dishwasher because it's cheap, I'd be quite happy paying nighttime rates during the day and switch back to running my machines in the day. Should I bother chasing them about it?
If you are planning to leave ASAP, then perhaps it is not worth it. As long as they consistently transpose the readings and don't decide you've used tens of thousands of units when you receive your final bill.
If only they'd do this to me I might be convinced to stay with them. I reckon I could get my night usage down to about 10%, which would make them my cheapest option if they billed my day units at the night rate.

Re the transposition issue just mentioned, you may get a short term benefit,  but the problem will manifest itself further down the line unless you now permanently transpose the readings for future transfers plus you might see a meter reader taking your numbers in the future!  But I am yet to see my electricity meter numbers displayed in my account and the gas numbers are gibberish.

Well if I'm paying nighttime dates in the day, there really wouldn't be an incentive to change from SP...........
I have just sent them a message via their messaging system asking them to sort out the transposition. I will do the right thing for a while, but if they don't sort it out, I may well take my chances and see what happens.
Agree that the gas is gibberish, seems to say the last meter reading was 30th Jan 1902. Which is some feat since the house was built in the 1960s.

On SP website login on my account I'm no longer showing as Elec switch in progress so all seems completed.  (edit: just checked app and both gas and electric now showing as Switch Completed).

DD has now showing the £94 odd same as YE but recommending £130 (up from£57 this morning).  Find My Supplier still not updated though...
After reading your post above where you mention the error messages when trying to enter meter readings, I tried again and managed to get the system to accept them.

My app is no longer displaying the "holding page" message and the account appears to be set up. The web interface has also updated.

As someone mentioned they had done this previously, as I was over £250 in credit with YE, it allowed me to reduce my DD to the minimum £10 per month, which should use up some of my credit until I get the final bill. The on line interface also allowed me to change my refund preferences to "Always automatically refund my full credit if my credit balance is more than £5."
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

My DD was set at £50 by YE, SP recommend they set it at £31, not done this yet but maybe the way to go?
I have over £200 in credit at YE, always/ have a large credit going into winter it reduces coming through winter but I have always liked energy companies to owe me, especially reading some of the horror stories of huge bills for some.

Maybe I will look at it a bit different from now on as suppliers let you pay additional payments via CC which is better for me as my CC pays cashback on amounts spent.
I always, always give meter readings every month, like to keep on top of things
I will be looking for a no exit fee company this time and hopefully come spring/summer there will be better deals around

I've only ever seen debit card payments accepted with previous providers. Credit card would be nice, with a low DD in place just to secure the best tariff.

Scottish Power now show my account as Live with tariff Energy Exclusive, with the correct meter reading and date that I entered, and the correct monthly direct debit amount (although SP recommend an increased amount).
The account balance is £0.00, because, as Masonic said, the Yorkshire Energy credit balance will not be available until YE issue the final bill.
CompareTheMeerkat says that a switch takes 21 days, but UKPower says a switch should take 17 days, so taking into account the 28 days between switches rule, I am hoping YE produce the final bills within the next 7-11 days...

I'd be very surprised (but delighted) if this were the case.  Don't forget that YE has now ceased to trade and the debits/credits are being organised through the appointed administrators - Matthew Cowlishaw and Clare Boardman who were appointed Joint Administrators of Daisy Energy Supply Limited t/a Yorkshire Energy on 07 December 2020.  They are licensed Insolvency Practitioners of Deloitte LLP if the blurb on YE's site is to be believed.  So the timescale re switching is really thrown out the window for us former customers of YE.  I am sure that they (the appointed administrators) are working with some/many/all of the YE team sorting out the debts and credits but I fear that it will be some time before we see either a cheque issued or a credit issued against remaining SP accounts.  To give you an idea of how long things can take, last year Breeze folded on 22nd December and I got my final credit owing to me via cheque (<£10) in early April the following year!  I am expecting the process to be just as long.  But you never know.

Interestingly SP have advised a very low DD which bears no relationship to what I will be billed by them (whenever this happens).

Electricity now showing as Scottish Power which has changed from yesterday in northernpowergrid region.
So when should I start a switch? Now, in 2 weeks or 4 weeks? Wait til email from Scottish Power confirming account transferred?
You can start a switch right now but whether your application will be rejected (due to this 28 day change of supplier rule) is the $64K question.  If I were a gambling man 4 weeks from now (99.9% sure of being able to switch without rejection), 2 weeks from now (90+%) now (10% or less).  If you go with seperate suplliers then yes 2 weeks from now for the electricity should be good.  If you have a DD then probably the % may be a little higher.
I wish you'd stop regurgitating this 28 day nonsense, there is nothing to that effect on OFGEM's website about switching supplier. If SP are showing as your supplier on the relevant national database now, you can initiate a switch. OFGEM's website says an Electricity switch should happen WITHIN 21 days (it's normally a little less). Don't expect your SP account balance and billing from 6th December and credit/debit from YE to turn up in a hurry though.

The last few days I have been checking ENWLand Cadent to see if the database has changed.  I am now showing SP with ENWL, but, strangely enough, today my address has mysteriously disappeared from the Cadent database.  It says to phone a 'rip off' 0870 number - no chance.  Just wondering why my address may have decided to disappear?
