If you included bank details with your meter read, then you'll probably see a new direct debit set up for SP, the reference of this should be your account number
Thanks for the speedy response.  I did not include bank details due to the large credit balance.  We don't have any gas here and part of our property is heated by electric storage heaters, hence the large balance at this time of the year.
I will wait for further information from them.  I'm just frustrated that deals are being pulled whilst SP dither about.  I'm meant to be back at work next week (teacher who is completely confused by the contradictory messages from Frank Spencer Gavin Williamson) and wanted this sorted before that mayhem kicks off.  Oh well, happy new year one and all
Not having an online account set up will not impede your switch away. We'll find out on Monday whether further switches are failing and that will give a good indication of whether the time is right.

After Green.energy told me my electric switch had been rejected on 30th Dec I called them on 31st and asked them to try again, which they did. I've had a new welcome email from Green and this morning I logged on to Scottish Power to see a "We're sorry you're leaving us" banner. My gas supply has been switched and yesterday I had a banner saying they're sorry my gas supply is leaving them so I'm hoping the new banner confirms electricity has gone too. With it being a bank holiday today, maybe I'll get another rejection tomorrow or Monday.
  • Finally seems that something is moving as I was able to access both the SP online site and the SP app.  Correct address and details showing 'Energy Exclusive' for dual fuel on the online site with tariff details available if you delve.  Meter readings can now be entered but the opening reads not showing other than the date of 30th November (although the app does state that meter readings received).  Once Northern Powergrid shows me as a customer of SP then the light at the end of the tunnel may just be lit.  With the demise of the really cheap deals in early December SP's tariff (if it proves to be true) is now within £10 pcm of the cheapest deals now available for my usage so the SP cost is not going to hurt me as much as I feared.

Today I received an email from Neon reef to say that they will take over my supply and take a DD payment on 3rd of January 2021, they also said they would send my final meter reading I sent to them to my old supplier, the reading I sent to Neon reef on 29/12 and not the reading that I sent to SP on 9/12 that subsequently appeared dated 5/12 customer read on my still accessible YE account. Having cancelled my £21 DD for 1/12 my account still shows the £5 credit I had after the 1/11 DD was taken.  Neon reef will send this newer reading to my old supplier , whoever that is , so they can generate a final bill which may take 6 weeks. Apart from the one SP email on 7th I haven't heard anything from them so hopefully my starting a switch on 9th beat SP in taking over my supply, I wasn't prepared to give my DD info without knowing what tariff I was going to be put on , I switched my gas to Zog in July 2020 and send meter reads monthly when reminded, so far I've had no problems but I never had  any with YE so let's hope the smaller suppliers who are infinitely easier to contact unlike the big six stay in business.
  • Finally Northern Powergrid now showing me as being with Scottish Power yeh :) although Gas still showing as YE/Daisy boo :(

There's no risk of your switch not going through at this late stage. You'll be treated as a customer that was already switching away from YE when SP took over and will be dealing with the YE administrators to settle your final bill. It's an enviable position to be in, especially as you won't have a credit balance once energy usage after 1/11 is taken into account.

Just requested switch to Neon Reef for electricity, after seeing SP as electricity supplier on database and SP account number now live on their site and app.

Does sP site show your tariff, or anywhere to input meter readings?

Acc no, energy exclusive tariff, meter reading option that fails when clicked on.
Wait and see what happens, well aware probability it will fail, but nobody really knows when this 28 day limit to swap suppliers actually began, if going by when supplier national database was updated then it should fail as this changed in last few days.

Mine shows only an account no, but I think it's complicated by the fact I had previously tried to switch to them last year, but the switch had failed, so I had a log- in and account no already. But until today only had the ubiquitous " Your switch is underway " .

So now I have an account balance of zero, no meter readings at all,and "Sorry you are leaving" message.
So, ok I will go then
