Thank you for the heads up.
About Gas, Zog is coming on top above BG.
Anyone has any feedback for Zog please? Otherwise I will go with BG evolve which is a bit pricier than Zog.
    Thanks
I was with ZOG for nearly 2 years but left for a better deal. Had no issues with ZOG, it was just at the time I was looking to renew they were very expensive for my needs.

Meter readings can now be entered but the opening reads not showing other than the date of 30th November (although the app does state that meter readings received).
Both the app and the online account are showing only Gas under Meter readings (No electricity yet) and the last reading date is 30/11/1902 with an actual of 000000000.  I can only assume that this is a placeholder with the actual reading supplied to SP (and replicated with YE) yet to be uploaded to our SP accounts. I'm not bothering to even attempt any meter reading updates yet.   Anyone else seen this happening with their SP account?

I Am gonna wait till the 4th then start a switch to avro.
Probably being left till last because I will not fill in the DD details in.

I see the same as you for gas, but there is a reading for electric from September, I stupidly missed giving YE readings for October and November, but did provide final readings to SP.

Today, I tried to enter current meter readings for both. For gas, it came up with an error that the reading seemed excessive and for electric, the reading was invalid, so I abandoned it.

The database says my electric is now supplied by SP, but the app and web account says they're waiting for my electric switch to go through. The database shows YE are still the provider for gas, but the app and web account says the gas has switched, so I'm not confident what's correct.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Technically neither, as both have had to be fudged to cope with the SoLR switch. The database is what matters if looking to submit reads or switch away.

Article in today's Telegraph under heading

Scottish Power hits out at 'unsustainable' pricing among rivals

(Might be behind a paywall though)
Seems that SP are seeking £6.5 m from Ofgem to cover remaining balances owed to Extra Energy customers....doesn't fill you with confidence about when or if any credit balances that YE customers might still have will be paid or treated as credit against SP bill.

"Scottish Power was appointed to take on Extra Energy’s 129,000 domestic and business customers when the latter collapsed in November 2018. It is now applying to Ofgem for £6.5m to help cover remaining customer credit balances, after funding the first £10m. "

This just looks like scaremongering to me. It's been over 2 years since Extra Energy went bust. There's no evidence customers lost their credit balances. If they did, that would have been a much bigger story. This is about SP not being able to recover much money from EE's administrators once the company was liquidated.
Edit: having got around the paywall, the actual article seems very balanced, points out that recovery of costs from the rest of the industry is part of the SoLR process and does not suggest credit balances won't be protected. SP's suggestion of ring-fencing is sensible, I have no idea why companies are permitted to use these balances to finance their business.
There is a well defined process for the protection and transfer of credit balances. Tonik customers saw their credit balances transferred 6-8 weeks after SP was appointed SoLR. If things go wrong there is a complaints process, which some have used very effectively. It's really only those who have not been moved to SP that are at risk (since they do not have the protection of the complaints process should their credit balance not be refunded in a timely manner).

Apart from the one SP email on 7th I haven't heard anything from them so hopefully my starting a switch on 9th beat SP in taking over my supply, I wasn't prepared to give my DD info without knowing what tariff I was going to be put on , I switched my gas to Zog in July 2020 and send meter reads monthly when reminded, so far I've had no problems but I never had  any with YE so let's hope the smaller suppliers who are infinitely easier to contact unlike the big six stay in business.
There's no risk of your switch not going through at this late stage. You'll be treated as a customer that was already switching away from YE when SP took over and will be dealing with the YE administrators to settle your final bill. It's an enviable position to be in, especially as you won't have a credit balance once energy usage after 1/11 is taken into account.

Something that has occurred to me about people in this position who acted quickly and managed to instigate a switch before the transfer to SP was underway. Will they have to pay the exit fees on their YE tariffs?  (assuming of-course they weren't near the end and within the switching window) I assume they probably will. As it happens, with the general rise in prices over the past month they might not be much worse off but it's another factor to consider.

If they were on a fixed tariff and not nearing the end of the fixed period, then yes the administrator would be entitled to charge the exit fee when calculating final bills if the transfer was initiated by the customer rather than via the SoLR process. Exit fees were about £30 per fuel, so would need to weigh up the additional cost of 2 months at SP vs ~1 month on the YE tariff then 1 month on the new supplier's tariff. There may be extra savings from securing a cheaper tariff before it was pulled. Some customers may have been on the variable rate or within 50 days of expiry of their fixed tariff, so couldn't be charged.
