... Just can't tell us the rates.

At the risk of repeating myself look at my posts on page 21 and it will tell you how to find the tariffs applicable to your postcode

Looked this up.  For my postcode, the "Energy Exclusive Online" rates are the same as the tariff that SP set up for Tonik customers (Basic Energy v2 Online).

Obviously I don't know if this will be the same for everyone, but it might be useful if people want to play with comparison sites, as none of them yet list the new "Energy Exclusive Online" but they do list "Basic Energy v2 Online"

Had the email filled in my details all except the DD details, will maybe have to pay a little extra but don't want SP to have my bank details
Look forward to my credit cheque ; - )
This will probably just delay your exit. You may be able to get away with cancelling the direct debit once set up if you have sufficient credit balance to cover your time with SP.

Our Gas and Electricity Energy Tariffs | Gas and Electricity Company | ScottishPower
Centre top row. Click on 'view tariff information labels'. It's a convoluted process  but you will get there in the end.

You get asked what you were paying at YE, and they say they will keep the payment the same - suggest you pick a nice low number (it's easy to make an error when dealing with all those details after the shock of finding out this sad news ;) ). They will get the opportunity to collect one or perhaps two payments before you switch out. If that's too much for you to bear, you could look into whether there are any penalties for failed/cancelled DD - this is not normally the case with Deemed Tariffs.
Meanwhile, you might want to consider cancelling your YE DD. We have been advised not to, but I for one am willing to risk it.

Already cancelled my DD with YE, no to decide how low to set it at , but it does say
"We’ll aim to obtain this value from Yorkshire Energy, however, if this isn’t available, we’ll use the amount you provide here. We’ll review your direct debit amount regularly to ensure you only pay for the energy you use and we’ll always let you know if this has to change."

Yes, although I'd suggest you have nothing to lose by giving a different figure as long as you would remain in credit. BTW, it seems if you don't provide details for a DD, "you’ll have to pay for your energy by cash or cheque, which will work out more expensive for you".

Yes saw that tried to enter my DD details but it wont let me now

Maybe I will give them a ring tomorrow to sort it, really don't want any delays, although if they want a cheque or cash although that will maybe cost a little more so be it

Surely my £200 plus credit they have enough to go on with

Over 1p/kWh more expensive on Elec and just under 0.5p/kWh for Gas if you don't have a monthly DD set up and go for monthly billing from what I can see
  • For the first time I decided to put some extra money in, I have over £200 in credit, mainly due to retiring I decided to get in front for the winter and intended to top it up, now & again.
received the email from SP and not sure what to do regarding my direct debit with YE.

Reckon I will end up cancelling the direct debit tomorrow.
