Thanks, on that basis I'll leave my DD (due according to my bill to collect on Saturday, so probably Monday) in place, as it looks like they are reducing the DD amount to reflect credit added at least 4 working days in advance of the DD date. I was considering cancelling it and settling by card to avoid them taking too much.bagand96 said:
Scottish Power took my DD today after my final bill on 11th February. The final DD was reduced to account for YE credit.masonic said:One or two people reported receiving their YE credit last week and having their final DD taken this week. I'd be interested to know if the DD payment amount was reduced vs what was in their final bill to reflect the credit added to their account.
11th Feb: SP Final Bill £102.44. To be collected by DD 24th Feb.
18th Feb: £36.07 YE credited to SP account. Online account shows £66.37 debit balance.
24th Feb: SP Final DD collected £66.37.
Yes its been slow, and the comms could have been better, but SP have got everything right. Yes I know I'm lucky that the YE timescales worked out for me.

I'm guessing their systems are set up to take the account balance as the final DD, even if it doesn't match the final bill amount (ie a card payment has been made or a credit added)masonic said:

I expected that would be the case but didn't know for sure. Like you I considered a card payment but it doesn't appear neccesary.1 -
You can reply to the bot as detailed in the same email and then you'll get a personalised response shortly after. But you got one anyway it seems based on your next post, so that's good.Trev456 said:...................................... Scottish Power recalculated my final bill and I got my final bill from Yorkshire Energy, I am £5 up. It turned up it was right to switch early and right to cancel my direct debit or I would still be with Scottish Power now and they would have took money I didn't owe. Expect to get any refund owed by cheque btw if you have left Scottish Power before your credit is resolved even if you still have a direct debit in place. That direct debit was to take money off YOU I don't think it will be vice versa, happy to be proved wrong though.
This whole process has been so strange where acting counter-intuitive has turned out to be the correct thing to do - the opposite of how we were advised. I have basically been guessing the whole time which isn't the way it should be but if I hadn't I would be on a worse tariff than I am now and chasing them for money they shouldn't have taken.
Staying away from the small companies from now on, don't fancy another SOLR ever again. I was lucky this time and at times it felt I wasn't going to be.1 -
Wow, I emailed to ask if they had lost my gas reading, giving it again in the email and they changed added it three days later and replied to say they'd done it. Why would it take 2 weeks with yours? It took longer for a bill to be generated, and even longer for me to be able to see the bill. I imagine they have an elderly secretary producing each pdf individually...Trev456 said:So 11weeks, 4 days since YE's demise. I'm owed £506 in credit. Heard nothing. I've contacted help@ye.co.uk , today via email but all I get is a 'bot' email which doesn't help my specific case. I'd just happened to read the meters on the 5/12 and had a generated bill that day so I would have thought sorting out my account would be straightforward.
Still awaiting SP getting the gas start reading correct. They wanted 10-14 days to do this. I used to work in IT so there's something really wrong with their systems if it takes this long. If it's not correct next week (they'll have had 2 weeks) I will definitely raise a complaint.
I understand that I mustn't take any more readings now before I leave SP next month as that can cause issues. I'll be glad to move away. Is this really so difficult to get meter readings correct?0 -
Did Yorkshire tariff increase on nov 28th? Got final bill and rates higher than expected0

It's a good dual fuel deal, but it's £150 more expensive than going to neon reef for electricity and staying with Scottish power (or someone else) for gas. I compared today after seeing the newsletter.peter1xxx said:I have had my final bill from Yorkshire Energy. Not sure when my £216 will be credited to my Scottish Power
account. Glad I waited from switching immediately as I shall be switching to the new So Energy deal as in the latest newsletter. In my opinion its a fantastic deal and in no way is there anything as good out there at all. The only problem is I am in debit with S.P. and I am worried the deal will not go through. I think I shall pay S.P. to make sure the deal goes through. It should be easy to get refunded from S.P.0 -
I had exactly this too, for gas (elec was correct). SP claimed it was a smart meter read when there is no way they could have taken a smart meter read on 6/12/20; they had only just been appointed as SoLR, they had no idea about my smart meter, and YE weren't set up to take smart reads either. Now, just before I leave SP, they are asking me for customer readings, even though they are now set up to read my smart meter remotely, and have been doing so.LHW99 said:Final bill from YE, readings don't match first bill from SP - b****0 -
Many organisations require an active direct debit to send an electronic payment to your bank account as they use this for confirmation the bank account is still open. So without a direct debit, a cheque is assured. Keeping the direct debit will not guarantee a refund will be made electronically, however, they could still opt to send a cheque.ThinWilly said:Expect to get any refund owed by cheque btw if you have left Scottish Power before your credit is resolved even if you still have a direct debit in place.
