Chris_Cross said:Being an SoLR virgin I (probably naively) thought that I would be able to ring SP today, get my account details and tariff they have forced us all onto, get onto the comparison sites and make my switch if deemed necessary. Well, I at least managed to get through, but was told that no tariff costs or account details are available and they would be sent out via post/email in the near future with no commitment of time..
The legalities of this that I find hard to get my head round is that they can be charging me for a few weeks of energy in the months I am using the most energy without me having any rights to know how much I am being charged, wow...
Like many others though the deal I was on I know was a stonking deal, rather like my Breeze rate. I suspect I am goign to have to accept paying more again, my rough estimates are around a £200 increase per annum (my DD was slightly low all things being said, but even so I am looking at around a £15 per month increase, not £70 per month, more like £85).
We don't use vast amounts of gas, but electricity is our problem child so to speak.

I was with so energy for years. Never let me down. Used green electricity. Used to email me occasionally and tell me that some of my power was coming from a big solar farm nearby. Would hate to think they were greenwashing me, but it’s all too common. You think you’re making a responsible choice but all too often as has been said it can be bluster...no pun intended given the previous windfarm chat 🤣 grid watch is new to me, going to have a look at that!! Thanks to all so far. Is there any reason I can’t just switch right now? Will I lose me credit etc?

So I emailed them but also started a switch as thought I may as well as the prices are going up.I got a response to my email about the price rise at 11:40am saying to check my spam folder. I know I never received an emailed from them about it so replied and then at 16:14 got a response saying they had ceased trading. As we're approaching the winter, the rates of this tariff are set to increase on 28th November by 31% on average.** This may vary based on your individual usage.
Other suppliers simply increase the price of their variable tariffs without providing another option. That's not what we do.
Remain on your current tariffHappy as you are? Put your feet up! Remaining on our Variable tariff requires no action from you. Your rates will change on 28th November. At that point, when you accessed your online account and pressed renew your tariff shows the new rates available for your address (Fixed and variable). Also you could check the tariffs in the website or making a new quote for your address.
I am starting to think the SoLR process is more concern about absorbing the obligations with employees, suppliers and contracts. Customers are last and the profitable margin from the transaction. While they calculate final bills and give the freedom to leave they are generating their profit by "kidnapping" you in a "invisible" tariff or making the process as tedious as they can.

If you're on an older tariff or a variable tariff (deemed/default/SVT) you'll just be getting the bog standard fuel mix.0 -
