  • Has anyone had their final YE balance applied to their SP account yet? I'm still currently with SP but am looking to move (I'm about to hit the comparison sites, I'm in Kent..) and got my final YE bill by email a couple of days ago showing about £100 credit

    One or two of the people who were able to transfer directly elsewhere have reported receiving a cheque from SP. IIRC, about 2 weeks after they received the final YE bill. If you haven't started your switch away from SP yet, then it is likely the credit will be added before you receive a final bill from SP.

    Well I have transferred away from SP (and actually transferred away from the next supplier as well) and received the SP final bill which covered the period from 6th December and which was taken by the DD SP set up.

    For YE I was not in credit but owed them around £50 up to the 6th December but cancelled their DD as soon as they went bust. Not received the final bill (and it isn't showing in my YE account which is still working) or any communication from YE as to how they want that paid.

    If my experience is anything to go by, you'll receive an email notification of the bill, just like you would a normal YE bill. No need to take any action until they produce the bill, but you'll likely need to make contact in order to pay it.

    Yep. Had my final bill over a week ago now, and credit applied to my SP account. I'm still with SP, and considering a move. But there seems little financial  advantage at the moment. Also in Kent(seeboard region).

    What I don't understand is my YE account was updated on the 3rd Feb so why wasn't the final bill created?
    Is it because YE administrators are putting more effort into getting those final bills out that are in debit
    I have £262.88 in credit at YE and am getting frustrated with YE, I can't blame SP as everything I have had from them has been spot on with the final bill and if YE have not produced my final bill how can they credit my account 
    Contacting YE using the links above all I get is the standard reply we are working on them and expect your final bill in the weeks

    No, my YE account is in credit, as was the poster just before your post, and like a few others, we've had our final bills from YE but like quite a few others, nothing appearing on many SP accounts yet. YE have said they are working through accounts in batches so that hopefully there aren't any errors.
    if you are likely to get into financial difficulties because you don't have your final bill from YE, try emailing YE Help and explaining the problem to them.

    I want to understand why when my YE account was updated on the 3rd Feb why wasn't the final bill produced then
    I suspect the answer to that is they first needed to get the electronic records in order, and then moved on to the job of pushing out the final bills. Others have shared feedback they received from YE that this was first tested in a small number of customers, before conducting a larger scale test (to identify any oddities affecting only a small number of accounts that could cause billing issues), then they moved on to generating bills for the remaining customers in batches, which is what they are doing now.
  • Called SP again today.  My switch away is scheduled for Friday and Octopus have just asked me for meter readings.

    The assumed/calculated read that SP have as of 6 December, is only 30Kwh on from the YE reading on 27 Nov, so that's obviously out by a couple of hundred. I've queried that, and we'll see what the impact is when everything finally comes out in the wash, probably only a 'gain' of £20 but it's money that wasn't spent while an SP customer.

    Got me thinking though - Octopus have asked for readings for today.  If I'm not actually moving over for another 5 days, doesn't that mean Octopus gain a little more money than they should do, from Scottish Power?  I'm assuming it's par for the course with all energy moves?
