I think I've had the warm home discount. My balance has changed by 140.00 but there's no way of seeing why until they send me a bill. My YE balance hasn't changed and no final from them, so I think I can assume WHD.
No idea when my next bill will be generated, why don't they tell you? Is it monthly, anyone know? I gave them readings again to see if it would trigger a bill and it didn't. They still haven't mentioned my gas being with them so I assume they lost my opening reading. So much uncertainty with this company, I'm off.0 -
My switch was completed today from SP 🤪 my next DD from SP is around the 8th March.
Still waiting final Bill from YE and have around £270 in credit with YE.
Im not sure if to cancel my DD with SP now? If I was to cancel the DD, would this effect my credit eventually from YE?
Hope this makes sense. 😀😬0 -
Had my final bill from SP in the post today correct to the penny, still waiting for YE to produce my final bill have £262.88 credit with YE and a £135 bill from SP
My DD is still running with SP so they will collect the final bill amount on the 22nd Feb, rang SP who tell me they will collect the final bill amount on the 22nd Feb and the YE credit will be paid by cheque if it's not been added to my account by the 22nd he said he expected the credit to be added around that time
What I don't understand is my YE account was updated on the 3rd Feb yet no final bill was produced I have asked that question to YE but just get the standard reply "bills are being produced in batches please be patient"0 -
Just to update on my experience - I've contributed a couple of posts on this thread previously but I'm now at a good point to update again. Yesterday I received my closing statement from YE. It was correct - but there again I entered my closing readings direct into YE on 6th Dec so it should be. I had my first DD taken earlier this week on the 10th Feb. Note as per what SP have said previously the first DD will be the "old" YE amount, even though I had tried to override it a couple of weeks ago and take it slightly higher. I tried to enter gas and electric reads into SP at the end of Jan (I like to do a monthly reconcile, and my SMETS1 meter from BG days has yet to be migrated - but that's another story - so I have to supply reads manually), but could not see my electric details - though I had previously been told I was fully set up. I spoke to a SP guy on 2/2 who could see it at his end and told me to check back in a couple of days as he had kicked off the necessary update for me to be able to see it - but this was still not fixed early this week so I called back. It's apparently a recognised glitch which the second agent has now raised with the back office team and I'm told this should right itself in 1-2 weeks, so I'll check back periodically. I'm planning to stay with SP at least for the moment (I was a returning customer to them in late 2017- early 2020 before my YE contract after being with them many years ago when their service was dire and I have to say it was fine during my second period with them). I live in the SW, and the tariff isn't a bad one compared with YE - I reckon about 10% more, which considered the stunning value of YE isn't a bad increase I think. I will of course keep under review depending on service and what other deals might come along. I like where possible to get an 18 month+ tariff, which then covered 2 winters with YE and also with SP before.
On a final possibly important point for some (which I have noted someone else flagged on this thread a while back, so it may be a common issue), my estimated annual gas usage (which I guess SP obtained electronically from YE) which was missing a significant digit in my (unconventional - as an SP agent described it) Welcome Pack from SP (the email I received with the tariff details). The effect of this was to show my annual Kwh as 2400 rather than 24000 (in round numbers) which translated into a ridiculously low suggested monthly DD amount. Suggest if yours looks dodgy then you do your own maths to make sure you're not underpaying. As others have said on here, and as Martin Lewis said last night, it's very important to understand that monthly DD amount is never a direct function of your annual bill, so you need to keep on top of it.

Hi All, first post. I want to move from SP as the variable tariff prices will go up on the 1/4/21. I'm considering a 1yr deal with Avro. It looks like their Customer Service is via email and on-line chats. Is their service OK?. I'm aiming to initiate the process next Monday 15/2/21 as by then SP will then have been my provider for 10 weeks. No complaints with them but their tariffs are high.
I luckily took meter readings on the 5/12 when YE ceased trading, a bill was generated and I'm £500 in credit. I have yet to receive my final bill from YE (it should be unaltered). I've paid 1 DD to SP, I guess I'll have to pay £300 to SP before I get my YE credit back. Anyway, any advise on Avro or a similar energy provider much appreciated. (I don't want a Smart meter yet). Thanks.0 -

I'll check that other thread on Energy providers. Thanks once again.0 -
I am fortunate enough to be pretty much sorted now with both YE and SP, and as things stand I am now officially an SP customer. I'm interested in the banner statement that now appears on my SP Online Dashboard to the effect that
'Good news! Your prices aren't affected by the 1st April prices increases.'
Why is that? Because they have been factored into their rates already?
Does this apply to all SP customers, or just ex YE?
Is the Energy Exclusive Online tariff we are on fixed for a period after transfer, or is it immediately variable?
Anyone?0 -
One thing that has become apparent is that I have been protected or 'misled' by the YE tariffs from what has been going on in the energy market. In common with others, I've been researching the market and suppliers of late, and I am surprised at how much prices have gone up. I was paying around £1000 pa for energy, but I'm now struggling to find anything less than £1250 on the comparison sites, and less than £105 on direct debit per month, rather than my £75.0
