  • I'm still without my final bill from YE, my account details remain unchanged and my balance remains the same from 24 November the date of my last payment. I have also left SP, with a final bill so, if and when i do get a YE final bill if it contains the wrong closing meters readings and/or a change to my contract prices I'll be instantly cancelling my ddm and disputing the bill.
  • Nothing has changed for me nothing from YE or SP 
    YE shows my credit and its posted on my account as a credit note balance 
    SP have nothing on my account no DD details (although they have have them and I have not cancelled) no balance no readings  a section says your latest bill 2nd Feb click on that and I get you don't have a bill yet
    I am putting aside my usage amounts even though I have £262.88 in credit at YE not bothered how SP take the final bill as long as I get my YE credit back either to pay off my usage or issue a cheque, more than enough credit to cover the time I was with SP

  • SP emailed me today (after I chased, again) to inform me that the errors in setting up my account (no electricity record at SP (although Northern Powergrid told me over 2 weeks ago my supplier was SP) and a totally inaccurate estimate of gas usage) was due to a technical error which they are working to resolve.  Also despite telling me there were going to take a DD of £48 on the 21st, they took £98 today.

    My opening gas reading never appeared either but I submitted readings half way through December (I had also given them 6th Dec readings as requested) and they generated a bill at that stage using opening Electric read (although that was wrong as it was the end Nov read on YE rather than the 6th Dec one I supplied to SP and YE) but only basing Gas on SC from 6 Dec and no unit charge.  

    When I submitted final readings a week or so later when switch out completed they generated final bill based on movement from interim bill to final readings and closed account.  So they can generate a bill without having opening gas reading but maybe that's because my interim reading was only a week or so after they took over supply rather than at this stage 6 weeks or more later.  It's all a bit of a mystery but as it's (currently..hopefully they don't change it later on) quite a bit in my favour I'm not moaning.
    They have my opening meter reading somewhere I guess, just the gas never showed in my online account!  I passed them my closing readings directly after the email asking for them, same as I passed to my new provider.

    But no account balance and no bills have ever shown.  There's a DD on my bank but nothing taken.  I know how much I owe them, and I'm more than happy to pay it whenever they get round to asking.  I won't be chasing them up, well not until after 6 weeks, if it hasn't turned up then I may then be charitable and get in touch asking for my final bill!

    Out of interest the 6 and a half weeks with SP cost me £22 more than it would have done with YE.  And £10.50 more than it would have done with my new provider's tariff.  I can live with that, not the end of the world.  (I appreciate a lot of people's may be a lot more than that)

    Took a DD of me today even though when i login it will not let me input my meter reads,also when i opened my account i did manage to change my DD to £67 per month but they have taken £52?
  • my DD also went out today, the same amount as YE. Still waiting for final Bill off YE.

    Interesting. They have still not setup my account properly.

    No DD details appearing in my account, and even though YE have sent me the final bill and told me how much credit I have, this still doesnt show ln my SP account yet.

    But  METER READER JUST TURNED UP.  Said he was from SP to read my meters. Don't they trust me? Crazy.

    Everything tallied up on the YE side. I never got to see my opening reading added to my SP account as I'd already started my switch away from SP while YE validated the readings. Once you start a switch away you lose access to much of the information in the SP online portal. I suspect I haven't received a bill from SP because I didn't give them any readings other than the opening one. I wanted to avoid a bill being generated prematurely, which they might have wanted me to pay without taking into account the YE credit.

    If you are unhappy with the amount and timing of the DD, you'd be well within in your rights to reclaim the payment. You should be given advanced notice of when a DD is to be taken, and not incorrect/conflicting information.

    I spoke to Scottish Power today to find out when my final bill will be produced, and to understand what readings they will be using.

    Apparently the reason my final bill hasn't been issued is because, they had no start readings (despite being sent them on 7th December).

    Can't teach pork.
