    SP have just been landed with 75,000 accounts and you're off. Good luck! Switch again to another cowboy. Just one thing I have had from SP is their SuperSaver rates for the last goodness knows how many years, always very competitive and of coure the WHD! Always had good service! My current rate is one of the best on the market!
    So glad for you. However, I'd suggest that many people who are struggling here could do without your negativity.
    It's not Blackbeard's negativity that concern's me, it's the negativity that I'm getting is coming from Scottish Power that is my issue. So far the only thing they have done correctly, with my transfer, is set up the Direct Debit in double quick time.

    So far they have:
    • questioned the very existence of my electricity meter and insisted I send them a photo of it;
    • managed to 'lose' my opening electricity reading three times;
    • don't seem to be able to access my smart meter for my current elecricity reading (although they can access my gas reading from my smart meter which, of course, is transmitted via my non-existent electricity smart meter); and
    • they have a website that, at best, is barely alive and often dead.
    So, I'm off to So, and Blackbeard will, no doubt, be happy to hear that I plan to never darken Scottish Power's door ever again.
    Yes SP has had problems, like most suppliers being forced to put people onto smart meters, and then only to find that the smart meter in the first generation were not compatible! That did create issues, but these were dealt with without having to ring up! Just a simple online chat through my account!

    So you can go elsewhere and believe what the tv advert from the your stitched dot con site tells you and then in another year end up in a mess again? Simon Says? But I will not dissuade you from going either, but just point out that my current deal, SuperSaver December 2021 B3 from SP is very competive, as I showed yesterday! Soon that your stitched dot con site will offer me another deal from SP, normally this is around April time! If you actually look, you may find one for you as well!

    Blackbeard hasn't the WHD stopped now?
    SP were a shambles with that too, by the way. Different criteria when applying to what they list on their website for the broader group. Easily misconstrued. I applied but who knows if I can get it. I was able to tick boxes for a person in the house being on universal credit and a person being in education. Not sure why that qualifies us though as the child does not get free school meals!
    No, I applied and recieved my WHD discount in January. As a CHD person, I applied firts around 9 years ago and I a reminded each year. As a big supplier, they self fund their scheme.Phones4Chris said:
    Do not forget that your current tariff is not available (never was) to those that were put onto the SOLR deemed contract of SP.   Not at all sure that lumping all other suppliers as being 'cowboys' is particularly helpful.  Perhaps the firm I am switching to (Avro) will prove to be cowboys (just like So ???) and just like YE if I understand you correctly, but at least it is my choice and I have made this using a range of different reviews/sources/forums etc. I based my decision on a combination of price, an exit-free tariff and (hopefully) good customer service.  Only time will tell if I have moved to another (Ofgem regulated) cowboy  :)
    Quite right. I looked at that SuperSaver December 2021 B3 tariff as soon as I was aware that SP were taking on YE customers, it's not a bad tariff but as you say was not available to us. I too made my decision on who to go to based on a similar combination of factors!

    Give them time to get all the YE customers up and running. Regsister on the Your Stitched dot con website with your dteails it will ping you when a tarrif is available! You have to move quick as they do not hang around very long!
    Never use the in house SP checker on their accounts page!

    Is there anything else we can do to try and get a cheaper price?  I see Octopus energy give a £50 referral credit but I don't want smart meters (don't want any workmen in the house as my partner is classed as extremely clinicial vulnerable).
    Octopus aren't pressuring anyone to get a smart meter. In fact, they are asking people to register their interest in getting one fitted and they seem to be only just keeping up with demand from people who want one. I've been on the waiting list for almost a month so far.
    Yes did some more reading after, I was mainly aware of them being used by people with EVs so hadn’t realised at first they were doing conventional meters too.

    All signed up now, didn’t go down the referral route as it seemed cheaper going through a comparison site.

    Most of the posters on this forum are no doubt people who probably take a more active role in their choice of energy supplier.  Some folk jumped ship way back in December before SP managed to register the customers of YE.  Some managed to change very soon after their supplies were (finally) registered by Scottish (in my case in early January).  Not SP's finest hour because many of the year end deals available in late December seemingly evaporated before our eyes!  Prices are only going one way ATM and those who have not yet jumped ship may well feel inclined to stay with SP at least for the short term.  Not a bad idea to get notifications from comparison sites as and when tariffs change (to your advantage) particularly if you are someone that isn't proactive about their energy supply.  Personally I used to update my annual usage details once a month (on the comparsion sites) and then do a re-run of prices available to me.  As I am on a fixed 12 Month (and exit-free) tariff from 3rd Feb with Avro, I am more than happy with the choice I have made for my supply (at least in the short term).  Good to know that SP can provide good service to some like yourselves  :D

    Simple and SuperSwitcher on mse is showing a £2 a month cheaper for my usage compared to SP, I would still switch for that as there are no exit fees.

    Annoyingly I can't set Simple and SuperPremium in cheap energy club as they haven't added the tariff and so I've switched it back to my YE tariff for now, if they can save me money from that then I'm switching.

    Yep me too! I've also transferred to Green.energy and been with them since the 25th however it appears my Scottish power account has been disabled, so not sure what's going on there?

    My Scottish Power account has never looked right. The electric readings have never shown on the site, only gas. This is despite providing them the info immediately when requested

    The positive is that YE have closed on the readings I provided SP on 7th December. The final bill is within pennies of what I'd calculated.

    Switched both fuels to E.On on 25th Jan, and provided start readings, so SP can, go through the proper validation channels. I ignored SP's request for final readings.

    Will be interesting to see what SP do with their final bill, and how quickly.

    How was this bill delivered?  Direct to you via email?  Or through your SP account?  I switch at midnight so I'd appreciate knowing what to expect and how.  :)

    It was an email from YE with a link to log into the regular YE account. (see snippit below). The bill displays in the usual way on the YE page.

    May be worth checking your YE account.

    Thanks for that info.  Just checked my YE account but no final bill/balance arising yet.  Good to know that progress is being made at the YE end.  :D
