I haven't seen this linked on this thread, but apologies in advance if I am duplicating it, I saw it posted on the GNE thread.

The decision letter from Ofgem regarding their appointment of SP as the SoLR for YE

Appointment of ScottishPower as Supplier of Last Resort (ofgem.gov.uk)

A moderately interesting read, with some detail on the process and decision making factors.  A bit light on the juicy details some here will be looking for, although as Ofgem say they don't publish commercial details that may prejudice the outcome of future SoLR tenders (guessing they were probably aware of issues with GNE and Simplicity by this point, or at least anticipating further SoLR's over this winter)
Interesting OFGEM statement and somewhat amusing especially the part that customer service is important , to both new and existing customers. I can only presume the Which? comments this week showing Scottish Power being 1 of the 2 worst (perhaps the worst) energy suppliers was a result of a consumer survey many months ago. I'd also love to know who the other 7 energy suppliers interested in acquiring YE's customer base were.

I received ANOTHER email from sp today, telling me again that my switch from ye is complete and my account is fully set up. It invited me to login. I did. But I still can't see any way to see the payment method of the  tarrif I am on, and there is nowhere to see the dd setup either. I checked my bank account, and THAT DOES show a dd in the name of sp.

So I tried to ring sp but could not get through even after hanging in for 30mins.  So I tried 'chat'. I got answered by someone in India. I explained that I wanted confirmation of my dd, and confirmation that I will be billed on the dd tarrif of energy exclusive. She looked at my account and said the dd hasn't been set up and that my account set up is not complete yet. She said sp were waiting for confirmation from my bank. Then she said that I will receive a welcome pack IN THE POST with the tarrif details I will be paying, and the details of my dd arrangement.

I asked why I had received 2 emails to tell me my account was fully set up, when she says it hasn't been. She said they were doing there best to send out the welcome packs.-- by post.

    Questions.
Has anyone had a welcome pack by post? I thought it was all being done in email.

Can someone with a fully setup sp account, tell me where to look online in my account, that shows the tarrif detail and payment method, and details of the dd?

My account was fully set up and I've since switched away from SP. Before I started my switch to another provider my direct debit amount and payment date were shown in a box (IIRC) at the top right panel of the online account (the same box as the 'make a payment' link). The name of my tariff was shown in a different box. The pricing of the tariff was never shown in the online account, but this is detailed here (link is from the 'Welcome customers from YE' page on their main website): https://web-content.scottishpower.co.uk/files/pdf/solr/Energy-Exclusive-Pricing-Leaflet-Dec20.pdf
As soon as SP was informed I had started a switch away from them, the DD details disappeared. Once my switch completed, the tariff name disappeared.
I have not received anything in the post from SP and do not expect to.

    Thank you masonic.
So it looks like gibberesh from the indian chat and I'm still in limbo.

I had a bill in the post the other day, although it was just a copy of what I had already seen online. I sent them meter readings a couple of weeks ago as they appeared to be inviting me to do so and I didn't see any reason not to. I was a bit surprised to get it but it was nice of them to think of me.

Not surprising. They will be telling you what happens when a customer initiates a normal switch to them. Very unlikely they'll be up to speed on what a SoLR transfer is and how it differs from a normal energy switch.

What is it with these energy companies? Outfox want my meter readings. Gas, fair enough no problem, Electricity there are two boxes both titled New Read, with no indication about which of the two Economy 7 readings goes in which. This was exactly the same issue I had with SP who managed to transpose them. Eventually they were corrected at the second attempt. Now I'm concerned I'll get charged some whacky last bill if Outfox send transposed figures to SP.  You'd think that Economy 7 was some strange concept, not something that's been around for decades.
I've sent a query to Outfox with pictures and an explanation of the readings.
This problem seems to occur frequently amongst energy companies, when instead of clearly marking reading input boxes day / night, they're sometimes referred to as e.g. Reading 01 / Reading 02, Register 1 / Register 2. This terminology is meaningless to the average consumer and speaking from experience, energy companies' customer services sometimes contradict themselves when asked for an explanation.

Like you, I had my day / night readings transposed by SP, when switching from EDF, back in 2011. I could write a book on the subsequent problems, including SP notifying EDF of incorrect closing readings (leading to EDF demanding money), examples of issuing bills based on fictitious readings, unanswered complaints to SP's Director of Customer Services and so on. All in all, including an Ombudsman case, the mess took over a year to sort out. Of course, the poor consumer doesn't get paid for all the hours spent fighting these witless organisations.

I wasn't too pleased to find myself back in the hands of this despicable company, so am delighted to see "switch complete" on my account today and my new supplier (Bulb) already on WPD's records. Now there's a new problem to contend with: I can't access my Bulb account nor enter opening meter readings, because I haven't been issued with a password. Is it a case of "out of the frying pan…?"

Especially when the answer had been posted some six hours earlier.
Also odd that you didn't just go directly to YE's website for the answer where it's been posted right from the outset.
It wasn't Gerry1 asking which everyone might have seen if you'd quoted the whole post. However, whilst YE's homepage does state who the Administrators are, it doesn't provide contact details which requires even further searching. So helpful posts from those giving full details to those that ask, is undoubtedly appreciated.

What's wrong with listing the details of the YE administrators here on a public forum? It's a public record as I understand it.
