Yorkshire energy ?

It might also explain why I can add a meter reading for electric on new supplier site today but it rejects the gas reading (even though the input screen for gas was showing on their site several days before the electric one appeared). Looks like I'm going to have to make some calls....0

would this be to being a new account?Shedman said:............... (Electric was fine, albeit they used the 30 Nov read that I gave YE as start point rather than the read I supplied on 7th). Something very odd about the gas switchover situation....even though in my case it appeared changed on national database several days before the Electric.

People have been seeing some pretty nonsensical meter readings for their gas accounts, I would be reluctant to provide any readings until you see the correct opening readings you gave SP last month.
I spoke to a woman at scottish power last week who said she was going to phone back on tuesday to sort out the meter read, but then asked for my date of birth for their records & I haven't heard back....

My switch from Scottish Power to Utility point 'seems' to be going OK so far (I've got the "Sorry you're leaving" message on my SP account now for both fuels.
The SP account suggest I should give a meter reading, but fails on the gas reading as it says the reading is too high! Sounds like a few others on here have seen similar, so I won't worry too much for now.
Sounds like another example of Scottish Power incompetence, I hope the switch goes though OK as I've been less than impressed with my brief experience of Scottish Power. Such a difference from Yorkshire Energy - who were excellent in my opinion.0 -
Edit: Oh does anyone know what their "exclusive tariff" is when trying to persuade you to stay, is it just the same as already published, or is it actually better?
Its not too late to come back to us
We'd love to keep you as a customer, so why not see if you can save on your energy costs by moving to our Online Exclusive Fixed January 2022 SM2* tariff? Like all our new fixed price tariffs it provides 100% green electricity made by our windfarms right here in the UK. And remember, you can move between ScottishPower tariffs at any time without paying exit fees - so if your priorities change, your tariff can too
I haven't bothered looking at the rates.
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
To be fair, the gas on that tariff is very competitive. Electricity much less so.1

Having looked the rates, my new provider is still cheaper
SP rates
Gas- Standing charge. 26.07Pence per kwh 3.104p Electricity Standing charge per day 23.71p Pence per kwh 16.96p I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
For me the electricity standing charge is 0.28p cheaper and the unit charge is 0.023p cheaper than the current variable tariff we're on
but it is fixed. My new provider is still cheaper.

My electricity supplier has finally changed to Scottish Power today.
Like I mentioned earlier, they were saying in the app they expected to start supplying energy on Jan 15 (which they changed to Dec 6). I can view my account info online now, only I can't figure out whether they've set up a direct debit or not - the tariff is Energy Exclusive. Can't find where to set up my DD, doesn't help that I'm with NatWest either.
The app is still saying my switch is underway.
Well, at least I can start my switch to Green. variable or Avro fixed now. Both are no exit fees.
Is it better to go with variable and hope prices go down or choose a fixed tariff until things get cheaper?0
