Now that the 14 day wait from when the switch to SP was first recorded on the national database (30 December in my case) has expired, Green have reapplied for the switch (electricity only), after the first two attempts were rejected. New switch date is 21 January. If anyone else in a similar position was told by Green that they would reapply automatically after the 14 days, don't rely on it. You have to chase them. But at least they answer the phone quickly.0

I started the switch on 7th Jan.
This is what my SP shows.
Date for leccy matches with UP but gas switch??
Should I submit the meter readings now or wait for my new provider to suggest a date. They haven't asked so far.I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
@macgyver Personally I'd wait until nearer the switch date otherwise there could be some estimates that could be inaccurate and they take the wrong amount on a DD or bill you wrongly.
So some switches can happen at the speed of light (like the Gas one above) and some can happen quicker than 14 days!

Currently the SP account page just says 'We're sorry to see your gas go.'. There is no useful information at all on my account page - no messages, no balance, nothing. There are no options I can change either. Roll on 16th and I can be rid of them!
Edit: Oh does anyone know what their "exclusive tariff" is when trying to persuade you to stay, is it just the same as already published, or is it actually better?

Just phoned SP and got through quite quickly, enquiring about my account number to set up an account online. Completed all of that and thought I would submit meter readings and for some reason it’s stating that my gas reading is too high and not accepting the reading.
would this be to being a new account?0 -

They haven't asked so far.The normal process is to provide opening readings to the new supplier up to 5 days before the switch completes, these are then validated and passed to the old supplier to use for the final bill. Providing SP with readings may result in an interim bill being generated, which you might not want (given the final YE readings don't seem to have been entered into their system yet).I'm guessing the 1 day sooner thing (which I'm also seeing) is the result of SP billing to that date, and new supplier billing from the next. It wouldn't be great to pay 2 sets of standing charges on switch day.

would this be to being a new account? However, when the bill was produced there was only a charge for the standing charge for Gas and no fuel usage as they didn't have a starting meter read (Electric was fine, albeit they used the 30 Nov read that I gave YE as start point rather than the read I supplied on 7th). Something very odd about the gas switchover situation....even though in my case it appeared changed on national database several days before the Electric.1 -

Thanks all, for the info.0

Gas readings nearly always take far longer to verify than electric, IME.

I've now got this showing on the account re Gas switch....god knows what's going on. I have a sneaky suspicion it might have something to do with having been with SP in 2014 and then switching away around Aug 2014 so somehow they are picking up old data???EDIT: Just realised that this was on my old account (must have used the old login details in error) and not the latest account...can maybe understand why the gas says closure complete for Aug 14 but no idea why the old account should have picked up the current electricity switch...totally baffled. The new account still shows the switches as being in progress albeit still with gas switch date of 3rd Aug 20140
