I submitted my dual fuel switch to Avro last Monday, my Scottish Power account displays the sorry to see your go message but also, "From now on, your balance and bills will only reflect your remaining fuel type.", I hope this is just an error
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

Blimey that is extremely quick (the sort of speed that should be the case at all times these days). Do you know what the circumstances are that's resulted in such a quick electricity switch?gsmh said:
I'm sure things will go ahead just fine. I applied to switch to Green.energy on 30 December and my electricity switched over on 7 January and the gas is due to switch on 16 January.............BedrockFred said:Started my switch on the 5th Jan and have not heard a thing from SP
My account page shows the sorry to see your leaving but no details of DD or meter readings, there was before I switched DD details and a suggestion I lowered my DD, my elec meter readings was shown but not the gas
Checking my new suppliers (Avro) seems everything is going ahead on the switch

Well, it's certainly true that accounts in this situation don't reflect all details correctly - in most cases, judging by posts here, they have no detail except name, address etc. I don't see why that should prevent them from being set up, saves people have to wait in long phone queues just for any update. As far as your EDIT goes, that's good news.Coys said:
Yes I did that, but logging with the new details brings up the old account, under my wife's name! The reply to my online query to SP wasPhones4Chris said:
Did they tell you a new account number when you spoke to them? Maybe you need to register a new online account with such a number?" A few details are yet to update on your account, and we are waiting for that only. Hence, I request you not to setup an online account now or submit readings online as it might not reflect all the details correctly. Once it is done, we will send you a confirmation email."- which flatly contradicts what I had previously been told in the phone call. I'll give them another few days.*EDIT - just heard from Neon Reef; transfer problem sorted and should complete by the end of Jan.
I've had some more DD update emails sorting out the truncated name. My switch to Neon Reef is still scheduled for 29th Jan. Just as I was about to reply to you here, I received a text AND an email from SP with the "We're sorry to see you go" message and "Access your progress tracker to monitor your switch" with a link which is just a login to your online account
which of course doesn't yet contain any detail except what I've already stated, that's IF you know the account number to register and login in any case

I'd guess that's because they've only been notified of one fuel switch so far.Tharweb said:I submitted my dual fuel switch to Avro last Monday, my Scottish Power account displays the sorry to see your go message but also, "From now on, your balance and bills will only reflect your remaining fuel type.", I hope this is just an error

It certainly was a case of 'I'll believe it when I see it!'. Then on 7th Jan the electricity was switched and Western Power database showed Green Energy Supply as my supplier. Someone on here pointed out that Green.energy can override the 14 day waiting period if the customer requires it, which they clearly did in this case. As a company they seem to be on the ball. An 8 day switch is pretty impressive, whatever the reason! The gas is taking an extra week but I can live with that.Phones4Chris said:Blimey that is extremely quick (the sort of speed that should be the case at all times these days). Essentially Green is willing to supply energy during the 14 day cooling off period, there is provision for this within their T&C. They were willing to keep trying to claim the supply until it went through, and did not delay the originally quoted switch date. This is highly useful information for people unfortunate enough to be supplied by other suppliers that go bust.Phones4Chris said:

If you are facing higher costs as a result of this (compared to what you could sign up to now), then I think it is sufficient grounds for complaint. SP should be claiming supplies in a timely manner.rmtucker said:Your not alone My gas has switched to SP but not the electric

YE need to generate final bills first.Mine had already been generated as I'd left some weeks before. However, I cancelled my DD, on the last day of YE trading, to prevent any further payments. Having heard nothing from SP I have no reference to quote to shout at them.

So if you left YE "some weeks before" did you not get your credit refunded when the final bill was produced and why would SP contact you unless that's who you switched to?Verdigris said:YE need to generate final bills first.Mine had already been generated as I'd left some weeks before. The final bill was only generated on the last day of YE trading. As I'd pre-emptively cancelled the DD, they couldn't have paid it back even if they wanted to. Kicking myself about the DD now, of course, but on the other hand I'm glad SP haven't got my bank details without my say so. I wouldn't mind the inconvenience of a cheque to keep my details out of their hands.
