Morning all
I’m up, but nothing actually done yet! Having a bit of a lazy start, DH still in bed, I have a lot to do and sitting around is not getting it done.
Onwards! Back later with a progress report xx5 -
Round that urge to look after them never leaves does it? DS left for work at 6.30am yesterday and didnt get home until 11.30pm last night. I have this fear of him having an accident when he is driving tired, especially when the weather is bad and he is rushing to get home to get to bed. This is probably what I was dreaming about.
Second cup of coffee underway, I am going to crash later. I am now doing a bit of Christmas shopping online, as usual I have left the tricky ones until last. Kitchen is a bit messy but I am ignoring that for now.6 -
Morning all. I avoided WAC but got up just before 7.00, made myself a cuppa and decided to iron the pillowcases that I had washed yesterday before retreating to my study. Flylady mentality has finally taken over!
Well done round. Glad DS and GF managed to get themselves sorted. It's hard to watch when your chick fledges, but so necessary.
Narc0, I do hope you have some source of heat in the house - though when I think back, you have mentioned cooking on the LR fire - but roll on Monday: fingers and toes crossed for you!
YL, Grandad's wireless made me laugh
Kazwookie, your talk of scones always makes my mouth water. I daren't make big batches because I have to eat most of them myself. DH is coping well on his stricter regime, and I don't want to tempt him with things that will spoil the Slinky effort.
BTW, how do other Flyladies understand a "low-carb" diet? DH seems to think that the dietician only meant him to stop eating potato, but I believe that pasta, rice, couscous etc are also carbs. I won't cut out everything all at once (partly because I need energy to keep running up and down stairs and taking Rosie for her daily walk) but I have reduced how much of these I cook for us both. The trouble is that I then snack between meals on bread and jam...
Apart from 4 loads of washing draped all over the bathroom, there's not a lot to show for what I did yesterday, but I didn't seem to stop: phonecalls, WA messages, emails etc punctuated my day with increasing urgency and shattered some of my plans for the Toddler Nativity next week, but a solution will be found. I spent ages looking for hymn tunes in a lower key so that I can reach the top notes on Sunday - my voice has cracked up badly because I haven't sung for months. I did strip my bed, wash all the bedding (hence the pillowcases) and re-make it (which is never easy with my gammy shoulder). I started some crafty makes that need to be finished first thing after breakfast. And I S&S'd the kitchen and hoovered the bits of fluff off the LR floor. Pleased to say that our presents for DD and family have been delivered, including the small packet that I only posted on Thursday afternoon, but sadly her birthday gift for me has not turned up yet, 2 weeks after dispatch - it's probably hidden in a dark corner of the sorting office with my Christmas card order!
Today will be a mix of more emails, Posada photos, robins, Post Office, walking with Rosie (preferably after the rain has stopped) and general tidying. Onwards and upwards.
(((Hugs))) spoons and sticks all round, as needed xxx6 -
Morning all,
I hope you enjoyed my company in the WAC last night.DH toddled off to the PO as I was getting up and took my flycards to post. I was going to go later and post them 1st class, he decided whatever it was in the envelope wasn’t important and decided to send them 2nd class...
Not feeling full of beans this morning. Understatement. I will write a list and come back once I have got DD to work. I guess I need to actually think about this Christmas lark. I have only sorted flyladies - priorities 🤣. The thought of not going visiting has meant that I have avoided thinking of any cards and presents. Oh, and the house is tired looking.
Round, you are right. All will be well x6 -
Round 2 completed.
YL - I have an innate desire to 'fix' things for anyone and everyone but it is multiplied by a zillion when it comes to DS. I don't suppose it's done him any favours in the long run, but he manned up, took over and got things sorted yesterday. I think real life is going to be a shock to both of them - no toilet roll fairy, no toothpaste fairy, no magically laundered clothes or cooked meals. No free gas!!! I keep telling DS to look on it as an adventure - and it's ok to sit down and have a cry, but then you get up and find a way to sort things out - or accept it's not sort outable and find an alternative way to carry on. That just about sums up real life I think.
Round 3 =
put baths mats on airer
change towels in bathroom
wash towels / tea towels
bring laundry hamper down
sort washing into loads
rinse and recycle plastics and cartons
coffee

Hi again
I got myself moving and have completed my first round...
bedding stripped, put in to wash
bathroom scrubbed, just need to mop the floor later
en suite scrubbed while I was showering, easier that way, again just the floor to do
windows open for some (cold) air
Physio done, bit ouchy this morningDH has popped out to run a couple of errands, I’m off to dry my hair and then make a start in my office
see you later x6 -
Round 1 done:
DD dropped at work
HHI
Wm x 1 done
Bathroom and ensuite s&s
School lunch account topped up with minimal amount.
Need to hunt out some wrapping paper which is trapped in a drawer behind the storage boxes that DH helpfully got down from the loft for “us” to sort through. DH is stroppy today - obstreperous is the right word?? - he needs to get out as he is at home 24/7, but refuses to come for a walk with me as he is “too busy”. Oh well.
Off to unearth the wrapping paper. I may be some time.7 -
Morning all
Round - I hope DS is settled now and getting sorted. Big hugs to you lovely xx
Sorry I’ve been awol this week. My focus outside of work and the children has been shifting greatly recently to a more frugal, sustainable way of life and this is taking up a lot of my time - chopping wood, being inventive with meal plans, going to our local food waste groups and olio users to collect food that was otherwise destined for the bin. Flying has been very limited!
Just wanted to say hi though and hope all is well xx

Round 3 completed - towels now draped on the airer and next load swishing.
DS's house saga continues - man is not coming to fix the oven today as quote has not been approved by landlord - hob and grill works so they can use those. Can't plug tv in in the living room as it's a Virgin media cable but managed to plug in freeview aerial in the bedroom - arranged for DS to video call my friend's husband (electrician / handyman) to see if he can see the solution. Broadband is being fitted today - fingers crossed that will work first time. You'll understand if I don't hold my breath!!!
