Round - you will be fine. It's what we have to do - set them free...
You will soon start to appreciate the tidiness. And quiet.
Been to Dun3lm to return the shades I bought prior to lockdown that didn't match. Apparently they have shade/batch numbers on. So when we looked for alternatives we checked the batch numbers. No matches in any of the shades so I gave up.
But you would think that if someone is buying two shades at the same time the Customer Services Assistant would have the sense to point this out at the time of the sale...like they do when you're buying rolls of wallpaper.
Anyway I have now decided I need an accent colour - so this is going to mean matching two shades (one light, one lamp), curtains and cushions. It is not going to be easy.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear8 -
Lozzy88 - thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And DS says thank you too. The oven works now they've set the time. DS called it 'the power of flylady'.
I also received an apology and a promise that they will listen in future lol.
Not sure whether the posivibes worked on the broadband: DS has arranged for an engineer to come out and set it up on Wednesday afternoon. But that means that DS will be coming here to work until it's up and running. So I'm taking it as a winJust not quite the win I expected but still a win. Let's call it a phased exit lol.
I'm sure I will be fine. I'm also sure I need to acknowledge my feelings and allow myself to feel them or else a big black dog will start sniffing round. Thank you for the hugs- they mean the world to me. I am not alone.
Flying has mostly consisted of laundry shuffles and tearing up cardboard ready to be recycled- but my bin is flup.

Well that's brilliant roundtuit 😁
I'm glad I logged in now, I have cooked and cleaned up the mess from tea.7 -
Round you beat me to it, I was going to say that you need to allow yourself to feel sad, its been you and DS for a long time, there would be something wrong with you if you didn't miss him. It shows you are a good Mum and you should be proud of that. When my DS eventually moves out again you can remind me of this, in the meantime I am here for you x
DS has had a phone review with his consultant this week, and told me bits of what she said, but he has now got a letter from the hospital and he hasnt opened it. I so want to read it!! Anyway she is pleased with his progress, which is fantastic, although its difficult to know if the symptoms he is still having is the chemo, or something else.
ASB you are doing great with the frugal living, I am trying hard, especially with keeping track of the Christmas spending.
I have been out on the bike, watched a bit of telly, updated my Christmas list and done no flying other than sorting washing and the basics in the kitchen.9 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok today.
No flying has been achieved here for a few days. Yesterday was mostly spent in bed with a bad head and still feeling a little fragile this morning. Poorly Poppet also had a bad day and DH isn't any further on in his recovery either. Life is a round of dressing changes and trips to the doctor.
Today I will just plod along.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Morning all
Hugs to any who are struggling at the moment x
I have been awake for ages, the pain in my hip woke me up, I took the maximum dose of painkillers yesterday so not able to have any more in the night, I’ve just made a cuppa and had the first of today’s, I’m sorry to grumble but it’s getting me down a bit....
Plan for today is to do my physio once the painkillers kick in, I then have some admin to do and some Xmas cards to write and post, also need to parcel up and send presents to my Mum and sister as these have finally arrived. At some point we will have a short walk to keep me moving.
Hugs again for all, I shall report back later x7 -
Morning xx
YL- thank you ❤ I can feel the flylady vibes coming through loud and clear xx
Jazee, BadCat, and anyone else struggling/ suffering this morning- big hugs xx Take it easy. Rest. And if it has to be done, pace yourself xx
Also much love and gentle hugs to poorly Poppet xx
My screwdrivers left the building halfway through Strictly- but that's not a fling- I want them back when the bookcase has been assembled.
I'm not going to the house to return the laundry and have a look round today as originally planned as GF's parents are going. DS will pick up the laundry - when he returns my screwdrivers 😉. DS said that I can still go but thinking about it that house has had a lot of people through the door over the past few days- so I'll stick to allowing DS into my 'bubble' here for now.
Round 1 =
get up
set WM swishing
have a brew
Must dos today are: clean out Sweetie and write Flylady cards ready to post tomorrow.
Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning all,
Hugs to all poorlies, especially Badcat and Jazee x. And Poppet of course. Just Because hugs to Round x.
I’m not sure what today will bring. DH is not a happy bear - his car goes back on Tuesday after 5 years of very few problems, and yesterday the warning lights come on like a Christmas tree. I know we would like to keep the car, but it really isn’t playing fair, trying to blackmail us like this.
Kaz - I have no practical experience of Olio, but my understanding is that it is a food waste sharing app. You register and then you see any fresh food that is on its sell by date, donated by supermarkets for free in your area and which can’t go to food banks. I hate food waste, so it seems like a good idea if it works for you.
Right, I had better get a wiggle on. I can feel a wasted day coming up.
Have a restful day all x7 -
Fayolle thanks but I don't have a phone that does apps, old fashioned me!Very frosty here, fed the birds, washed / dressed etcMince out of freezer to make shepherd's pie for dinner tonight.OH offered to help yesterday, so I gave him one job, just one, 'to buy a loaf of bread, preferable brown, sliced' well guess what no bread................ grrBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
