Good afternoon!
Minimal flying here this week. Visited the R H S garden on Wednesday with DS and 2 small boys. We met my mum there - it was the first time I had seen her for 8 weeks!
DD2 is home after spending lockdown 2.0 at her BFs. She approves of the kitten 😊
I am just taking a break while the screamer is sleeping! I might make a cuppa in a mo 😉
I am trying to make a mental list of what needs doing this weekend - it would probably help to write it down! 🤔💡 I need to order DHs new phone, and put up the Christmas decs (which involves much cleaning/sorting first!) DH & I pulled out the sofas & cleaned under them on Monday, so at least that is already done. I should start writing some cards as well!!
Ok - tea time now, and I have a bag of gibble on the table that I could start sorting through.....
Narc0 I hope your range/ heating is getting sorted now
Round Its an exciting new chapter for your DS & GF, and some changes for you too - we are here to hold your hand. Is it wrong, but I can't wait for my kids to move out!!? 😂 I'm ready!!

Hi all
Busy day at the paid stuff. The job DH was going to has been cancelled because of the weather so he got up at 9.30am and has been laid on the sofa all day. At the very least he can make me my tea (veggie burger and chips so not too taxing).
GI it sounds awful to say but I actually liked it when it was just me and DH, before DS became poorly and moved back home. I love DS and his GF dearly but there comes a time when they are ready for their own place and you all get in each others way a bit.
On that note DS is doing a long day at the paid stuff so I have emptied his laundry basket and put one load over the airer with the dehumidifier on. Another load is in with some of DHs work stuff. Feet up now.

Goodi - I was sort of ready for them to move out, but I'm aware that my life is going to be very different. I don't have a OH - it's always been me and DS against the world. GF moved in with us in September but for 27.5 years it was just the two of us. And now it's just me and the budgie! I'm not weeping and wailing I'm sort of happy and sad all at the same time.
DS and GF have had a traumatic day. The move itself went ok - despite the dismal weather, but they have had no heating. After a series of increasingly desperate phone calls the last I heard was that an emergency engineer from SSE is coming out to fit a prepayment meter with £10 on it to get them through the night.
The fridge freezer that I ordered for them has arrived. They have made up their bed. They have ordered in pizza. If the man can just get them some heating on we will all sleep better tonight.
I've moved the laundry hamper back on to the landing; brought down a pile of cardboard to be sorted for recycling; cleared the assorted items that had appeared on my bed while I was at work - it was the only place DS could think of to put GF's Christmas presents apparently. I'm not convinced that DS plans on permanently living somewhere else as his shoes and coats are still in the kitchen...but his bedroom is empty apart from the gibble that had found it's way under his bed. I've had a 40 minute chat on the phone with my dad, and numerous messages and texts to respond too - tea is now in the oven. And I can feel the tension leaving my shoulders.
All is well. All is well. And all manner of things will be well.
Rxx

Working down my list:
1 report finished and emailed.
Did petition on recycling in our area; very saddened by people on our local FB saying that if the council start charging to collect the recycling, they will just put it in the black bin. I'm not brave enough to write a reply in public though; people can be nasty. We just have to keep recycling and re-using what we can, and we do try pretty hard.
Did RSPB petition about putting the new Sizewell within a mile of the RSPB site.
Wrote a whole load more cards. Natty, I will post the flycards tomorrow.
Went to Mr A primarily to get the food for the charity boxes we do. Have been asked for one to be GF this year, which is fine although we didn't manage to get quite everything.
Went to M@t@l@n on the way home as we had a 20% off voucher.
Caught up with a couple of phone calls and a bit of admin.
Tomorrow's plan is to get to local garden centre super early (Mr N's idea; bet we won't appreciate it tomorrow morning) and get a few more bits and pieces for the boxes and other presents plus they do really nice cards and we have a couple of birthdays coming up as well as needing 'special' family Christmas ones. If the cafe is open for the free coffee so much the better, haven't exactly got much use out of the loyalty card this year. Hope to find some decent mini carnations as I have seen an idea to do for the front door instead of my usual wreath - Mr A didn't have any. Not sure how many arrangements I will be doing as presents this year as we won't be seeing many people, shame.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.6 -
Morning all
WAC here, have got up in the end. Feel a bit bleugh, dropped off to sleep last night and woke up in a start feeling really flustered and anxious, not sure if I was dreaming. Took ages to drop back off again, had to listen to a podcast in the end.
DS has just gone to work. Dad rang him yesterday because his wireless wont tune in and he wondered if DS would call in after work and sort it out. "Wireless what Grandad?" "My wireless, it wont work". "Yes, but wireless what"? I had to explain that a wireless is a radio.
Going to update my Christmas list, put some more washing over the airer. No snow here but it has been very very wet.
Round hope DS and GF have heating. And Narco you are being very stoic about not having heating, I would be having a meltdown!!

Morning xx
WAC here too. Woke up before 3am and was still awake at 4.30, but then I must have dropped off because I've had weird dreams. At least I wasn't anxious, I was simply WA. I thought about getting up but I didn't want to disturb Sweetie 🤣
DS and GF eventually got heating and hot water. And DS was sounding less 'near the edge' when I last spoke to him. My chick fledged and crash landed but I resisted the urge to go over and sort it. Now, that was hard. But necessary for both of us methinks.
Day 1 of the rest of my life. I apologise in advance for any over-abundance of posts.
Round 1 =
get up lol
make my bed
have a brew
put out pizza boxes from Thursday's tea
put out the cardboard that's ready for recycling
wash bath mats (GF's parting gift was to flood the bathroom floor thanks to a maladjusted shower curtain)
That'll do for starters.
I didn't tell DS that you'd had no heating for weeks Narco l thought it might send him over the edge!!!
Have a good day
