Oh Boy
What a day this has been. I thought I would just go into work, set up for a course, do the minimum work and keep and eye on you all.
Well, not to be. First tutor could not get her laptop to interact with her projector. Got our projector, no joy, had to then get one of our laptops out and it spoke beautifully to our projector! IT network issues still going on today after the Friday change-over.
Lunch-time we had an incident which meant I was point of contact to disseminate the latest news. All sort of high heid yins on call. I think it might get into the press (chopper had to be called in!). Fortunately no serious repercussions or big injury. Having to debrief tomorrow and I think wrong decisions (but not by me) were taken. Got home quite late and just had a very easy dinner tonight (sausage rolls, mash and beans)!
Old sofa bed now on pavement for collection tomorrow, new sofa bed in place but no place for me to cradle the head for my afternoon nap - will have to get some nice new cushions. It is slightly wider than our old one but all to the good and probably could now sleep two slimline adults!
I see there are quite a few poorly folk, poorly kids, folk who are overdoing things having been in hospital. Sorry I am not personally mentioning you but hope things get better.
I have tried to pm Aussie a picture via Flickr tonight and I don't know if it has worked.
Off to test out comfortable sit down on the sofa bed (DH watching C5 football downstairs).

DLB - had same thing with DS year before last - looked just like chicken pox but turned out to be an allergic reaction.
Been soo good today. Finished big filing job, cleared ironing mountain and cleaned my oven. Bit annoyed thought as now its clean I can see that something has scatched the oven handle. I have given it a good clean but its not spotless so have booked in an oven cleaner for January and will use any Xmas money I get towards it.
Plan is thoroughly clean kitchen a bit at at a time over the next few days. Need to write a list of last bits of non fresh xmas food required and also any bits we need before Xmas then the only food shopping I will need to do will be the farm shop for fruit and veg.
Am chilling here in front of the telly, footy is on. Plan to have a little surf and an early night.
Good News about your Dad Gingham.

dlb,
lets hope its not chickenpox and that she can still be Mary, fingers crossed for you. xxx0 -
Gingham Tha'ts great news about your Dad. I hope he makes a speedy recovery. Put the other bit of bad news on the boiler and enjoy your wine.
Granny It didn't work.
dlb I never knew you could get them twice either. I got shingles on they way home from UK in 2005. My back was killing me  I was in such a lot of pain, a few days later at home I got this weird rash which also was ouchy. I thought shingles was like gout and only OLD people got it. It took a few months to feel good again. Hope it's not cp again.
Churchmouse And I thought diamonds were a girl's best friend. But in your case it's the polyfiller. Hope you managed to get it done in time and had a nice night out.
Pink I thought I was boring everyone with my garden but if you insist I'll start up my veggie updates again. I'm also waiting for the word to do you know what.
Thriftlady I can post some over for you if you like. I seem to be getting them every fortnight  so I've got a stockpile of sanitary items that would put a chemist to shame.
Taplady Well done on losing more weight. :T
Hugs to those feeling unwell. Nicola, great to hear from you and good luck on the 19th.
Well I'm going to make a big pot of carrot & lentil soup today. To give DH a change from Lettuce Soup when his toothy pegs come out. He started his holiday's today if you can call them that  . Hope you get a good nights sleep. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Cpox - DGS1 has had it twice we think) - once nursery 9 months ( not a 100% sure as only 4 spots with blisters) However, last year a total real CP outbreak and spots and blisters everywhere.
Aussie - I had a feeling!
Off now as very tired and can't concentrate.

I didnt say I was having Shepherds Pie though...how did you come to that conclusion :rotfl:
Aussielass-Your soup sounds lovely!
Grannybroon-You sound like youve had a hectic day. Hugs!
DLB-Lets hope its not CP and just a rash. Hugs to your DD.
...and hugs to everyone else.
I'm off to bed soon. OH not feeling very well and supposed to be up Kings tomorrow afternoon, will have to re-arrange if not too good in the morning. He's just poured a large drink, which is what he does when he feels rough and is off to bed.

Evening all,
Just got my suttons seed catalogue and am now craving all the lovely fruit and veg therein...not fair!
Gingham Ribbon...glad to hear the news on your dad
PenPin...hugs to OH
dlb...hugs to dd...maybe its not cp although these illnesses can strike twice...shingles is a horrid thing...we use folk/faith healing and it zaps it very quickly...not really a believer normally in that type of thing but have seen this work
Grannybroon....not your week really is it...still tomorrow is Friday
Thriftlady...I have difficulty letting stocks run down but am getting better, must be down to about 10 tins of tomatoes now!
OH cleaned my oven to-day...it looks like new...to-morrow he says he is going to try to fix the top oven which as never worked since we got it from my brother...bit scared about that as he is not the most talented of 'fixers'...just concerned that he may banjax the whole thing and I will find myself roasting my turkey on the barbecue...that won't happen will it, new oven is not planned until I have the money to spare.
Got my presents sorted into bags to-day, some have bits to be added and I have discovered that I must have enough sweets to sicken all the children in Kildare...have been buying bits from Lidl since they started selling Christmas sweets in September.
Redruby...can I suggest you keep away from vacuum cleaner...apparently they are not good when anyone has been messing with your productive innards!
Sleep well all, hugs where needed or wanted

Hi!
Just a late quickie from me. Hope everyone is ok, not had a chance to keep up with the thread as don't seem to have enough time at the moment!
This week I've been busy with shopping, getting tooth fixed, work (which is soooo hard going at the moment) and today it was DD2's seventh birthday. She's now the proud owner of a DS Lite, so they both have one now and spend ages playing on them! She having a party on Saturday in a local hall with 20 of her friends. Someone else is entertaining them and I just provide the food.
We spent the evening at DD2's Rainbow Fundraiding Xmas night. The girls made crafts, sang carols and had a raffle. We did quite well as both of the girls won a child's prize and DH and I won the first prize and got to choose a great hamper! :j It has lots of useful scrummy things like biscuits, crackers, sweets, tins of food, wine, relish, jams, teabags etc I reckon it's got about £20 worth of food in it so I'm chuffed.
The weather here has been horrible today, so lets hope the sun will shine tomorrow.0 -
Roger GB.
Gingham....so glad your Dad is Ok and I hope the other thing is not as bad as you think
Thriftlady.....Get yourself over to the freebies board. There are always tons of free samples of you know what up for grabs.
DLB....Hope it's not the pox. Pink and I both had it at Christmas one year and had to scratch the bits on eachother that we couldn't reach. Lets just say the chicken pox scarred me for life in more ways than one. :rotfl:
Glad to hear you got the all clear Pam
Churchmouse where are you you dirty stop out?
Just back from the local Panto. It was hilarious. :rotfl: but I have just put two exhausted children to bed and am about to send OH the same way.
Sleep well everyone
