OS Daily Thurs 6th Dec 2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for thur 6th Dec 07. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning.

It looks to be wet and windy out there again...

Busy old day today. Work at 8 and then a scholl Gov's meeting at 4.30, followed by our office party at 6.30... Non stop fun?
Should be a nice office party anyway... It's one of those sit down meal types where the partners are invited and hopefully no one gets drunk and has it away with someone else from the office.
I grounded my daughter for a few weeks after coming home at 10pm last night from late night Christmas shopping. It may seem harsh, but I know she deliberately missed the train so she could stay later with her mates!
She is 13 and if I don't keep a tight reign on here she will take massive liberties!
Well lots to do... Have a nice day y'all

Morning N9EAV and all who follow. It does sound harsh but 13 is far too young to be out late, especially these days. Thing is, and I remember this, they don't see the dangers. It's only now that I understand why my mum said she could never get to sleep until she knew my sister and I were home safe.

Well, I didn't get any time on here yesterday. The day just ran away with me. I have had a massive sort out of my office which has led on to sorting out lots of other areas so I've used the time constructively.

My DS2 is 26 years old today. He's my baby, although he hates it when I say that! He'll be calling in after work this evening with his GF, but I shall text him a bit later this morning and will also look for an e-card to send him. All this lovely technology is great.
Well, I haven't read any of yesterday's thread yet. I will do that in a minute. I kept trying to get on here yesterday but, every time I got close, the phone would ring so, in the end, I gave up.

Anyway, I hope all the poorly ones are feeling better now.My DGS and DGD have both got coughs but they don't feel that ill, thankfully, although DGD's teacher told my DIL that there were 42 children, in a not very big school, absent through illness on Monday. There seems to be colds and upset tummies everywhere. I just hope no-one is ill at Christmas.

Today's forecast is for rain all day but I shall still have to brave it to get some milk and will go to the gym as well and then carry on with my organising and do some more wrapping up. Apart from a few last-minute bits and pieces for DH, and some more food, I have done all my Christmas shopping, so I'm feeling rather smug.

Anyway, off for a shower then to read yesterday's posts. See you all later.

I hope your nurse visit goes well Mrs Mix.
N9eav, good luck with the 13 year old DD, this is when they really turn your hair grey.
Hi Aussie, lol, I thought my comments would get your attention.
Yes I am now going to lay down a list of ground rules ready for the next lodger.
I better get ready or I'll be late for work.
    Hugs Hester

At work again. Feeling very tired.

Off to a garden centre later, which always does really lovely Christmas things. Tradition to go an have a nose over there. On the way back, stopping at a farm shop to get the chipolaters for Christmas Day dinner (pigs in blankets). Will probably get some other goodies when there too. Think we need cider to mull, so we'll get that there too as they make it.

It's freezing in this office - heating was switched right off again. I've put it on, but with only two radiators to heat a rather large office, it takes a while to warm up.

Sister came back from holiday yesterday, I haven't spoken to her yet but sure I'll hear from her soon.

    Hope everyone's ok

Joannasmum, have a fabulous time, don't forget you are a child again in Disney, ride on everything and have lots of fun :D

Mrs Mix, hope the knee gets better soon

Hester, good for you, you lay those rules down, I have never known a lodger take so many liberties

Must write my cards today, and do some wrapping. No decorations up till the weekend, so not feeling very Christmassy yet
