Afternoon all, doing well so far having spent £58.25. I'm trying to only shop on Sundays with an occasional top up for bread and milk. I've roughly planned my meals until Christmas in the hope that I can use up the freezer contents as well as some of the store cupboard.
Had a lovely meal last night using chicken drumsticks (i slow cooked them and then removed all the meat.) popped into a pan with mushrooms, green beans and onions and a jar of creamy mushroom sauce, served with rice. (I also added a handful of sweetcorn as youngest son isn't keen on mushrooms or green beans)

My budgets went haywire this month as I had a very large unexpected expense, so mine is just damage control really. Annoying as I started the month extremely well. I will get paid the 18th so it's a super short month for me but January will be long so need to just keep on being careful.
Prepped the hotpot recipe from Healthy BOSH! at lunchtime so kitchen is smelling nice - or was until the beetroot I left roasting while I carried on working was forgotten about until 2 hours later and became actual charcoal - sad times! Oh well, the hot pot will be yummy tonight with some rice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old Style, Crafting and Techie Stuff boards. If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. How annoying for you elsiepac, pity there isn't a convenient politician around to take out your frustration on. I could imagine kicking Boris down the stairs at No. 10 would go a long way toward restoring your equilibrium and just think how you'd cheer up the rest of the country too!
Anyhow, just popping in on my way to bed to say I spent £3.20 on iron tablets today; they've gone up by 20 pence since I bought the last bottle and there are only 60 in there. Off to bed to mourn the loss of my 20p, night all, goldfinches.5 -
