Hello, had a couple of expensive (for me) shops at Aldi; a £61 and a £49. However everything I need with regards to extras for Christmas are bought, and hidden! Next Friday I will be going for a normal shop and then hope to just pick up bits locally that I need between Christmas and new year. We won’t starve which is the main thing 😁SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)6

Afternoon all,
Expecting a large grocery delivery later, with the majority of our cupboard bits for the rest of the month, along with some treats for Christmas. The kids break up on Thursday so need to have some snacks in for them. I've been organising my other orders for this month too and adding the vouchers I've saved for throughout the year. Looking likely that I'll come in under budget for the rest of the month as our Christmas food shop isn't as expensive as I was expecting, only feeding 5 (3 kids) so don't need a large turkey or lots of buffet things.
Already got a box of bits on top of the cupboard, mince pies, crisps, cheese straws, crackers etc.
Need to start thinking about next year and seeing what areas we can reduce our spends in. Think I'm going to go back to buying meat from a market/wholesalers and batch cooking/freezing.
Ideally I'd like to keep the grocery spends to £350 per month in 2021, our average monthly spend this year has been £472.59 over the 11 months to december.Grocery Challenge 2024

Hi
My total spends so far this month are £10.50/£100. These were £2.65 at Co-op, £2.15 at local shop and £5.70 at Tesco’s. This Monday 7 Dec, I had my new fridge freezer delivered and my brother installed it. This was my Christmas and Birthday present delivered early. I didn’t realise how much I used my fridge freezer till my old one went. But I’ve done well to last nearly 3 months without it.

@PipneyJane phooey. That’s unfortunate because it works in the signature lines. I wonder when they’ll finally turn on those features again.4

@Money_Choices congratulations on your new fridge freezer! That must be fun to have a shiny new kitchen toy.5

Congrats on your new fridge freezer Money Choices. I was without a freezer for ages when I rented and then had to get a new kitchen for this place. Having one at last was like welcoming back an old friend.
I spent a lot this week, stocking up for the return of DS3. Mr.T sent me some points vouchers so used them & spent £12.76, £5.90 went on eggs and cheese in the market and the rest was spent in Saint. The total came to £64.87, making my annual spend £1677.58..Grocery challenge 2025: £650/1500 annual budget5 -
£3.50 for a pot of jam -
- Oh my - I needed it for my cakes - I have had them jammed and marzipanned now and intend making royal icing today so I can post them tomorrow or Wednesday latest - it is premium, hand-made sold at the farm shop jam though.... Add Apricots to my shopping next summer and I will make it myself in future.

WOW! that is the most expensive jam I've ever heard of - definitely got to be worth making your own in future, although I'm not sure how well apricot sets and apricots tend not to be particularly cheap. The cheapest place I've ever found apricots is France when we were on holiday one summer a few years ago - we bought a box for 3 Euros! We found ourselves constantly picking them every time we moved, LOL!

So a Lidl shop (£60.90) and a meat order (£60.61) takes me to £318.43/£350
The meat will last well into Feb, but with only £31.57 remaining until Monday I'm definitely going to be baking bread - anything to keep me out of the shops!!!August Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.002024 Grocery Challenges Average - 98.67% spend vs Budget
