I've just added a massive £123.46; £43.46 was the total from L!dls (wish I'd had a voucher!) and £80 was spent at the market. That's quite a lot more than usual, which is because I stocked up on a few of DS3's favourite things; he's due back early next week and will be with us for around 3 weeks. We're well stocked up until next Friday, hopefully, though bread & banana supplies always seem to give out mid-week!Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)4

" add the text you want to be coloured "
I have another shop to declare. We went to Lidl and, somehow, managed to spend £36.55. I know £11.98 went on two Baked Camembert With Chorizo. We’re still debating whether Christmas should pay for them but, for now, it’s come from the Grocery Challenge. The Grocery Challenge will certainly pay for the rest that we bought: breakfast cereal, coffee, shampoo, etc. They’d run out of £1.50 veg boxes, but we found large boxes of mushrooms (650g each) for 70p so bought 4. I’m about to fry most of them with chopped onion and garlic, to make Base for the freezer.
The above brings our GC spend to £113.33/£140.40, leaving £27.07 for the rest of the month.

PS: I tried several times and, sadly Colour wasn’t accepted in the HTML screen as a command. It just showed as text. (Must have done something wrong.)"Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

I had the same problem with trying to do Colour @PipneyJane when I tried early but bold/underline makes it stand out too. Will have to try to remember to do that in future!!!

Another weekly shop done.
£32.53 in aldi on curly fries, Quorn chicken pieces, 2 nut roasts, frozen peas, halloumi burgers, 4 pints of milk, apple juice, 4 tins of beans, 6 onions, buttermilk pancakes, aerosol cream, salsa, a big pot of Skyr, 2 little yoghurts, chicken slices, deli sandwich filler, 4 tins of sweetcorn, 1 tin of soup, bolognese sauce, sweet chilli sauce, broccoli, honey, blueberries, a box of chocolates, popcorn bars, 5 pears, 1 banana, a pack of rice, 6 bags of crisps and 12 eggs.
On to tesco where we spent £8.82 on 8 litres of Dr pepper, a chicken salad pot, sour cream and cheese biscuits.
I've also just ordered 4kg of dog food, which we will collect in the week, totalling £13.05.
Meal plan this week:
Sunday: nut roast, roast potatoes, onions, carrots and peas
Monday: halloumi burgers, curly fries, sweetcorn
Tuesday: Quorn bolognese
Wednesday: Thai Quorn chicken curry with broccoli and rice
Thursday: Quorn chicken nugget wraps with curly fries and sweetcorn
Friday: out for dinner
Saturday: takeaway
For breakfasts I'll be having yoghurt, brioche and fruit or granola bars. OH will have Skyr with muesli or granola bars.
For lunches I'll be eating my way through pastries in the freezer, soup or rice. OH will be having wraps or soup.
Snacks are the usual: cereal bars, cheese, crisps.
Total spends of £54.40. Bringing the monthly total to £174.78/300.
We only have 1 shop left (may also have to order cat food), so feeling pretty good. Although we haven't bought Christmas food yet, it is just the 2 of us this year, and whilst we are definitely going to get ourselves some treats, it shouldn't be too expensive!5 -
Ps, I think that there is another Lidl voucher tomorrow in the daily mail.
I was given a voucher a couple of weeks ago and used it for Christmas gifts of gin and whisky, otherwise I wouldn't spend £40 even though I shop for three. Bear in mind it's two alcohol items only5 -
Sorry, Sunday mail4

Went to Marks today for a small top-up and bought milk, yoghurt, baked beans, frozen fruit, unsalted butter, deodorant and y/s jalapenos and butternut squash which all came to £11.47. That makes my new total £79.83/£152.
Surprisingly I spotted a packet of mixed raspberries, blackberries, black and red currants which worked out cheaper than the Sainsbobs one I often buy, M&S pack is 700g for £2.50 and S'by's dark sweet cherries is 500g for £2. I find it quite hard to come by black and red currants in frozen fruit packs which don't contain strawberries so was pleased to plunge.
So, so far I've spent £6.65 per day. If I can make what I've got in now last for another few days I could potentially get that down to below £5 per day so I think I'll do some sorting out of the fridge and freezer and making up of what I've already got in and we'll see.
Thanks to D and G for your oddbox photos, they went a long way towards persuading me to give it a try too.5 -
Thanks for that. Will try next time I need to post.4
