£47.99 spent between Lidl, to use my voucher and Morrisons to spend my saver stamps, now considering which neighbour may have freezer space to store my meats.Do I need it or just want it.3

Just a small top up shop of a couple of things I forgot yesterday so had to pop back after dropping DH at golf; spent £3.49 leaving me £179.46 for the rest of the month. Should be doable as already have most of my meat for the month so it's mainly fruit and veg and cupboard stuff to buy.5

Greengrocer shop this morning for £14.02 taking me to £196.92/£350.
I'm defrosting my freezer this evening and so will make a meat order later as it is very bare!!August Grocery Challenge £161.27/£400.005 -
Just added £10 spent between the bakery and the greengrocer's this morning; there's more, because I haven't logged my L!dls spend earlier in the week (receipt in van) but it was actually quite moderate; somewhere between £40-£50 IIRC. We really just concentrated on the basics - butter, coffee, fish, chocolate! - because we currently have enough of everything else to see us well into the New Year, and no more space. Market day tomorrow; we don't know how much longer we'll have it, and know the stallholders have been told they may only have 2 days notice to clear all their gear off the site. The day that happens, I'm going over to Oddbox! Thank you, D&G, for posting pics of yours to show us what we could expect.Angie - GC Aug25: £207.73/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)5

Thanks @peb and @pamsdish. They put one in their in-store magazine at the end of last month, too. My problem is that I find it really difficult to spend £40 in L!dl, no matter how hard I try. It might be different if we bought our meat from supermarkets but the majority of our meat comes from a local butcher. This time around, we solved the problem by sending DH down there on Tuesday night, to buy one of their big, air-dried hams plus a few grocery items we needed. He spent £7.68 of Grocery Challenge money and £30 from Christmas.
Thanks also to whomever explained where the £1.50 veg boxes can be found in L!dl, since I hadn’t worked that out. I’m heading down there later this morning and will, hopefully, pick one up.
While DH was out-and-about on Tuesday, he went to MrT’s and bought the few items we can’t buy in L!dl, spending £10.28 in the process. That brings our total Grocery Challenge spend to £76.78/£140.40, leaving £63.62 for the remainder of the month.

Needed to pop out to get more eggs (we seem to get through loads!) and a few other bits. Only reason we went today is because we need some smoked haddock for breakfast tomorrow (kedgeree) so bought the meat needed for this weeks menu plan. Spent just under £20 on groceries plus £20 for kettle which comes from different budget. So now have £160.61 left for rest of the month which is over half on the month's grocery budget and already have most of what is needed for Christmas so should be doable.5
