hi guys, thanks all for your help i have now made the laptop redundant (sellin on ebay) it was not a new one, going to get another as this is driving me mad

i followed these instructions, but got stuck at first hurdle as there was no lan icon to click on....
and now the laptop gives you a choice of xp or win 2000 to run on !!!

it is so frustrating, i dont know what to do with it !!

the local comp shop wont touch it, it to old...

Well as you are trying to set-up wireless, in your case it will be your wireless adaptor icon that you need to click on!
