broadband -- i want to go wireless, how do i do it ??

my computer is using the original modem my isp sent.
i want to be able to use my wire less laptop as well
do i just need a modem / router ??

i am on onetel / talk talk...

i am not bothered about the main computer being wireless just the laptop...
the laptop is wifi enabled !!

i have seen plenty on ebay would something like this be ok

what will my son need to do to stop people getting into his laptop from other laptop when using wi-fi ??

as seen alot on tv about it some time ago but he was not getting a laptop then ??
will a firewall stop this ??

You just need to encrypt the router, using a password

Getting a wifi/lan built in laptop.
Using Virgin BB,set top box, already running two desktops of a router [wired] will this be the same router to use, for wireless on the laptop?

If your PC is next to the phone line, you don't need to use wireless but any 802.11b/g wireless will work fine with it.

Depends if your Virgin is cable or ADSL. Set top box sound like cable so you would need a cable wireless router to connect to your set top box.
