broadband -- i want to go wireless, how do i do it ??

    thanks, i want to run my pc via cables / wires etc.
    and my sons laptop via wireless, thats why i needed to know if any modem will do...

    what makes are best apart from belkin ???

    Any of these here personally I would avoid Belkin.

    hi itook your asvice and got a NETGEAR DG834G
    brill connect to my computer via ethernet cable as phone line next to comp.

    tried to set up my lads laptop and it cant connect, any ideas what i might be doing wrong ??

    i am no good with this sort of thing and never had wireless or a laptop before..

    use wpa not wep

    sorry where would it ask me for that....
    i had to put in a user name and password to set it up on my desktop, but it does not ask me on laptop, i cant even get onto the screen to in put isp info, as its trying to connect to openworld as laptop originall y had that on it..

    Is the wireless switched on, laptops usually have a button or kb combination to turn it on.

    control panel, networks, wireless anything there
