The problem is that you have been trying to do this for so long, we don't know what you have done and what you haven't done. What stage are you at now?

If the laptop is wireless already, then simply turning it on it will spot the wireless network and (XP) you will get a little box pop up when you turn it on to say wireless networks detected.

Quickly click that and a bigger box pops up and you will see your wireless network.

Click to connect. And if the router is encrypted you will be asked for the password. If it isn't encrypted (open to the whole world and his dog to use) then you'll just be on the internet straight away.

i have done all of this and i put in my password and it tries to connect and then nothing happens, it does not connect.....
it is driving me mad been at this for weeks !!!
