happypie said:to be honest i am really surprised amazon hasn't refunded you. it's a company with great customer service and provides refund in minutes if you have issues with products (no asking details of problem, sending photo/video etc). are you not a prime member? prime members are treated much better in terms of returns/refunds. also i suppose you probably don't have great history with amazon, otherwise 200+ pounds is no big deal for them. i personally don't think amazon will close your account if you raise chargeback or section 75, its a very big company, closing account for such trivial thing seems unnecessary - unless you have bad/similar history. if its first time i believe it could just be a warning at best. if i were you i would not care of closing the account if my story was true.0

"Wat did the document inside the package say?"Don't know how often there is an invoice/delivery note inside an Amazon delivery? I can't remember the last time there was in anything I have received either from them or fulfilled by them.Different from sellers who use the Amazon platform though hence the relevance of your first sentence.1

It sounds like there is a lot of doubt on the OP. Just to add that last year I bought something from Amazon (not third party). Can't remember what I ordered now, but instead I received a Take That CD. LOL.
It was only £10 and couldn't be bothered with the returns process so left it. But it can happen.0 -

A Gary Barlow CD on Amazon? It doesn't get much more tax-efficient than that. Did you use an iPhone on Vodafone to order it?2 -

I think I know where the issue lies with Amazon returns when an incorrect item is received - it happened to me last Friday.
Ordered a book for my daughter but received a "Light Up Bullsh*t Button" instead. Called Amazon customer service, explained the issue, they authorised the return, booked a collection for the Button and reordered the book. The issue came when I went to print the return label as the slip that had to be placed inside the parcel stated that the item being returned was the book I didn't receive rather than the stupid Bullsh*t Button that was going back! As the accompanying email stated that I had to return the item by xx date or I would be charged for it I could see what would happen - they wouldn't acknowledge the return as the slip didn't match the item and that I would be charged again for the book. Called Amazon back and the agent understood why I was reticent to return the item given this discrepancy and they agreed to cancel the need to return. Quite easy as the value was only circa £8 - in fact I was surprised they were going to the expense of the return in the first place given the low value.
Perhaps the OP could confirm what items were shown on the return slip that Amazon supplied - the items that had been incorrectly sent or his original order.0 -
Hi
Could it be the 3PL that has swapped out the items - ie. the company delivering the goods? I used to work for a certain 3PL a few years back - they delivered Amazon stock all over the country - they had a spate of ipods go missing - very easy to remove from the box & stick in a pocket! One of my exciting jobs was to try & track down who was doing the stealing. This was in the days before automation and weighing etc (as you can see by the fact it was ipods getting nicked!)
No idea whether that is still possible? Would be interested to see whether the 3PL actually weighs all items from Amazon.

What is a 3PL? (It's not a common acronym so please don't assume people will know what you mean. A quick Google suggest you mean 3rd Party Logistics).1
