Amazon refusing to refund for wrong item delivered that I returned.

  • Amazon security is incredibly tight, so the odds that all these "missing" phones and laptops being stolen in the warehouse is about the same as winning the lottery. Of course, parcels go missing all the time and given the sheer amount that Amazon sell, it's bound to happen at some point. No doubt the OP will tell us shortly that Amazon have miraculously fixed the issue and paid them compo for their distress.
Maybe order picker made a mistake and sent wrong item, I mentioned this to Amazon and they insisted it's impossible for them to deliver a wrong item which I don't believe at all, no system is infallible.
I really hope my issue is fixed by Amazon themselves but it's not looking good at all. Been trying again on live chat with no luck. Requested a call back, still waiting.
  • They fail to understand i didn't receive a Poco X3 but earphones and two remotes that i returned.

The system doesn't work like that. Anyway, I'm out.

    Dear Srikar,

I'm afraid you haven't quite understood the issue here. You've received the items that were actually sent out to me. The original delivery from Amazon contained the wrong items ordered hence why I've returned them. Can I please either have the correct items ordered or a refund please.

Yes.  Make sure you ask for a Section 75 claim, not a chargeback.  A Section 75 claim is a legal right between you and the bank.  If it's a chargeback, then Amazon can object to it.
If your claim is successful, assume that you will never be allowed to buy anything from Amazon ever again.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

I have been informed by Amazon that the picking is done by robots and not humans.  I had an issue with smoke detectors, I had ordered three of a specific type, they sent one of that type and two of a earlier model same manufacturer.  They believed me and offered the "wrong" ones for half price which I took.
Think I lot depends on value of the goods and history with Amazon.  However people have been known to try it on with Amazon with the very issue OP has.  Not of course that I am suggesting he/she has done that.
