Royal Mail delivery times

Now that European countries and others are blocking flights from the UK due to the new new variant virus, there will be even less opportunity to fly parcels overseas. There are also huge queues of trucks waiting to go to Europe. This may well have a major impact on delivery times to parcels out of the UK. Going by their attitude so far, I doubt that eBay will make any changes to delivery times so I will be suspending sales to overseas buyers until things are a bit clearer.1

This is a very good point! I suspect in all the general gloom and doom the fact that even fewer flights will impact post going overseas will be missed.

Nothing to do with RM really, but I had a load of Facebook items to post at the weekend, I switched them all to MyHermes and used the Packlink half price offer (offer applies whether or not it is an ebay parcel). using their standard delivery and 3 out of the 5 parcels have already arrived this morning. I was paying £1.45 for a parcel up to 1kg and £1.22 for a large letter up to 1KG which I think is a bargain. I sent more on Sunday and the last 2 this morning and hope they get there as quick as well.
Meanwhile I have just had to refund for 2 RM missing large letters sent early December.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Boris doing another announcement at 5 so think it might be time to close again for the time being. I have put my time out settings onto one account but will now close the others. With all the new customs data required, increased mail prices and extended delivery times, International might be going altogether. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

I sent my last few facebook marketplace items this morning via MyHermes. The shop was actually closed as we are tier 4 but the shopkeeper came to the door and took my items as he said he was too late to stop the collection of Hermes parcels, so he might as well add mine to the bags.charlies_mum said:Boris doing another announcement At 5 so think it might be time to close again for the time being.

Don’t know about tier 5, but if we get Christmas, we’ll be locking down again soon after
sorry, just realised you’re in tier 4 so you’ve already lost Christmas. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Yep, looking to buy a laptop now as I feel Zoom meetings and meet ups are the way forward and I find doing it on my Ipad a bit fiddly.charlies_mum said:Don’t know about tier 5, but if we get Christmas, we’ll be locking down again soon after

On the bright side, got the last Christmas present today. It was posted first class on Saturday, so can’t criticise Royal Mail this time. You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Hearing chatter now that postal services are being suspended?
Not been able to confirm yet I might add.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.1
