South West London here, no problems at all both buying and selling, although the past week the postman has sometimes come at 3pm instead of the usual 11am to noon, and since the start of 2021 there have been about 5 or 6 different postmen while last year it was the same guys every day (one for letters and one for bulky / signed)

My normal post person arrived about 1.30 today with letters , apparently our round has not been covered for days and they are going to sort out a better arrangement starting from next week. He checked whether we were still going to be in later and came back with a van about 30 minutes later with all the packages and parcels.

All of my eBay and Amazon items are here, plus the other parcels were were expecting as well as cards and medical letters thank goodness.

If we disregard the snow. To RMs credit they are taking staff safety a bit more seriously with regards to delivery in the snow (though sick pay from injuries and vehicle damage maybe a larger influencer)
As I put previously. This is the future for RM. They are capitalising on the pandemic to soften up the public for dropping daily deliveries.
Also note they are still massively limiting callers office hours. Again getting people used to using redelivery options over collecting.

Your own RM claim can be started 10 working days after due date and won't be instant- I don't know what sort of time frame they are currently working to with refunds. It is therefore quite possible for a lost item to be refunded to the buyer well before you see any compensation.
I have to confess - I ignored your advice and contacted the buyer.  She said the item had arrived but couldn't remember the exact day.  RM tracking still showing in transit.   So I claimed delay from RM anyway (on Sunday) and today the apology letter and book of 6x1st arrived.  Which was rather faster than I expected...
I need to think of something new here...

2 1LL posted Sunday 13th still not arrived in local post code area.  Saw both people on Monday 21st so could have saved the stamps !
Those 2 items from December have still not arrived.
None of my Ebay buying over the past couple of months has been delayed.
Today is regular postie's day off.  Stand in came around same time as usual but only had small bag instead of the normal trolley. We watched them deliver to 3 houses in the street, very unusual to have that little mail so I suspect today's real mail has not been sorted and regular postie will have a double pile tomorrow.

  • The post in my area seemed to be perfect for ages.

Then I noticed I’d had no post since 10th March and last night at 6pm I heard the letterbox, huge pile of letters had arrived..
