Hi all Potters!! It looks as though the weather's going to pick up a bit now - well, until Saturday at least!! :/

Any of our dear members who are either ill or low in any way, please do take great care, and I sincerely hope you'll all soon be well and back with us. For now, take great care and be kind to yourselves. 3

Very many thanks, Ant, and yes, we had a really great time, even the weather was wonderful, well the first couple of days were chilly, quite windy too, but after that it was glorious. 😁 Thanks so very much for looking after the thread. <3

Yes there are some really beautiful places in North Devon, Ant, we've been there several times, especially Westward Ho! which is where we were last week, during the last few years too, mostly with the family. Our preferred choice would always be the Highlands of Scotland, but more than a week is definitely necessary, this time we just wanted a weeks getaway.
We had some glorious walks along the coastal paths with so much wildlife - but sadly only saw 2 Butterflies, very much in decline sad to say!!  :'(

Thanks so much Siju, the weather was beautiful, unlike back here in Somerset our DD told us on the phone, torrential rain, but we didn't feel a bit guilty! 😂

My word, you soon pushed on with DS's house! Of course, by now they'll have moved in! I'm so happy for them ☺️❤️☺️ both.
Wonderful news about your DD too! The kiddies will hopefully (depending on distance) grow up together and be happy in each others company. Many congratulations to them both! 💕
Great saving, keep it up, you'll need to! 😉 Do you knit or crochet?

Excellent potting Ant!! I agree with the decorating, though it's so worth doing... when you reach the end!

Hi Hetty, don't worry about being AWOL, or not having been able to pot, I realise it's never so easy in summer. I was more concerned about you being down, take great care of yourself and hopefully you'll be back to normal soon. ❤️
This is my first time on the site since being back from holiday so I haven't had chance to test the site, so I'll look out for all the "improvements". 🙄 To my mind it's been user unfriendly since they changed the format a while ago.
Thanks for the cwtch definition. Good luck with the roof.
All the best for a wonderful visit with your aunt and uncle.

Just the 3 of you in over a week! 😳 Oh well, the others must be enjoying the weather, or not.

Not so much "potting" this week, but £10 transferred to the SPC account

I see evidence of you dropping in little_sweetie, even if you're unable to do any potting, why not stop to have a little chat with us? ☺️

Have a GREAT WEEK folks. 🤩 Stay very safe and healthy.

    Sue xx

So happy that you had a lovely week Sue-UU  life is so much better when you've had a break and the sun is shining.

DS and his fiancé are now safely nesting in their new home.  It's been a busy few weeks but apart from helping FIL with hedge cutting this Friday, we should have a quiet, peaceful weekend.    I used to do a lot of knitting when I was younger, perhaps now is the time to restart.  My dear mother was amazing at crochet, but sadly it wasn't a skill I was very good at.  I still have a beautiful circular shawl that she made for me when I was expecting DD 29 years ago.  I've washed it and it is now ready for use in the autumn and it still looks as good as it did when she gave it to me.

Just £5.51 to pot this week.  Enjoy the rest of the week Potters, and keep safe and well.

I thought it was just me Hetty - I’ve been finding navigating threads on the new site a right faff. Hope you are in better spirits soon. Unfortunately there are certain times when there seem to be endless expenses, and that seems like where you are at the moment. I met my Uncle on his 95th birthday last week and that was certainly emotional. I am sure you will treasure seeing your Uncle too.
Any potting is good potting Siju . Every bit adds up.
A warm welcome back Sue . We missed you. The Scottish Highlands is also my favourite holiday destination. Absolutely stunning and it’s always been a mystery to me why not many people seem to go there. My Dad was from up there so I might be biased, but there’s nowhere I’d rather visit. My cousin is going up on Thursday - I’m a tad jealous.
I’m still potting regularly. Hoping to make the short break after opening effectively an “All expenses paid” break.

  • Hi Sue and fellow potters 👋
Pleased that you had a lovely holiday Sue. You deserve it.
So sorry I've been AWOL. I've been popping in now and again to try to stay in the loop but have been having a serious mental wobble for a while.  In a nutshell, we are moving home again after just 18 months in our new home 🙄 Our disrespectful young neighbour is getting us down to the point that G just hasn't settled in.  In addition, his health has deteriorated to the point where we now need a bungalow within easy walking distance of the shops (stairs were a bad idea  🤔)  This means extra expense, obviously,  so our finances will be completely shot to pieces.  We sold our lovely house within a week and have found a bungalow in a decent area so now its the stress of packing, solicitors, removals companies etc etc and its all down to me to sort out 😳 We hope to be moving in just a few weeks then I can redo the budget and find out exactly how broke we are.  When life throws you lemons eh?

BTW I've never really got to grips with the new forum layout either!

    Helloooooo potters!

Have managed to get away for a long weekend to Bournemouth a few weeks ago, just me and DH, was a nice break but still not America  :'(
Been potting regularly as and when I get some pennies, Miss Harley is a big grown up girl now, still thinks she is a tiny puppy though and clambers onto my lap, plonking her 30ish lbs of weight on top of me.
Looking forward to the school year being over as DD's school have changed their punishment structure and now every infraction is an afterschool detention!  DD has had more since they went back than DS had in his whole school attendance! She got one yesterday because she forgot her reading book!
    Anyway, back to my lurking!

What a stupid rule - I bet your DD didn't intentionally forget her reading book.

    Countdown is on for you..
