What wicked heat SPCers!!  :s:p Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Stay safe and healthy!!   If any members are either ill or low in any way, please take great care, and I sincerely hope you're all well and that you will soon be back with us. For now, take great care and be kind to yourselves. 3

Hi Ant, you're a step closer to normal again then, though I suppose it's bound to feel very strange after all this time. I'm glad everyone was sensible with regards to the ruling, can't afford not to be with numbers racing on up, especially given that the symptoms are now so different! The normal cold symptoms are totally different than that of Vivid 19.
You don't sound grumpy from the way you write, I expect everyone is reacting in the same way, especially with the difference to the noise levels, I hadn't even thought of that. Be kind to yourself Ant.
    Brilliant saving by the way!!

AHH there you are, Hetty! I wondered where you'd got to, though I do recall you saying about a holiday. I'm glad you had some time out with your young Alex, I hope you enjoyed yourselves.
Well done for getting your shed sorted, a hanging basket too, excellent.
Not to worry about the lack of potting, a shame, but one of those things.
It's good to see you back Hetty.

Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND (what's left of it!) folks. 🤩 Stay very safe and healthy

Ouch Hetty - I have been hit with the big car billmyself on the past. I do try to save a bit each month towards servicing etc but I know from experience an unexpected bill like that can blow the budget out of the water.
I’ve had a very MSE weekend doing my Mum’s garden, and also pottering in my Auntie’s garden with Aunt and my cousin. We got a good bit done and had a great chat. Particularly nice as we lost contact with my cousin for years and years so it’s been a bit like Long Lost family!
My Auntie was so grateful for our help. She didn’t seem to realise it was a real pleasure for us and was something we wanted to do. Sometimes it’s the simplest things that give the most pleasure.
I hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather - Today a bit too hot for me if I’m honest.
Sue _ You are the Queen of consistent potting. Well done with your continued good potting habits.
Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday evening and a good week ahead

Thank you @Hettyhound, I'm hoping we can hold off a while before making another commitment to a new pet.
Our DS and fiancé had the keys to their new house last Friday, so we spent the weekend helping them sort out the house and garden before they move in at the end of the month.  DD and SIL came along to help too with their two little dogs so I had plenty of lovely cuddles (cwtches if you are Welsh!) with them.  We will be back with them next weekend, helping with some painting and then the following weekend they will move in, so a busy few weekends ahead.  It's lovely to be busy and feel helpful, plus we have the added bonus of seeing them all.
Actually have real money to put in my pot this week £7.00 in total!!!!!  Enjoy the week everyone :)

Still the heat continues Potters!! We mustn't complain about the lovely weather as we had enough of the cold before. Enjoy what's left of the weekend. Stay safe and healthy!!
Any of our dear members are either ill or low in any way, please do take great care, and I sincerely hope you're all soon well and that you will be back with us. For now, take great care and be kind to yourselves. 3

Whoops Hetty!! I forgot all about your expenditure, so sorry to hear it though.

Thanks for the reminder Ant. I also forgot all the gardening you'd done for your Mum & Aunt at the weekend, very well done you.
Thank you for the compliment about consistent potting, though due to us also having our own car expenses, condensation getting into the brake/indicator glass, it might not remain that way. Also, since Covid began we've mostly been shielding due to the fact that I have COPD, so we've mostly only gone for hospital, Dr and extortionist Dentist appointments, remember?! Still, DH & I had a fantastic day out on Exmoor last week, it was really wonderful!! p We parked right by the moorland and just over the hill was the sea...so very beautiful, and we sat on the brow of the hill to get views of both while having lunch!

Congratulations to your DS & fiancé on getting the keys to their new house Siju!! Wonderful news for them both as well as all the family. 👩‍❤️‍👨 🥂🍾
It won't be long now before the decorating is complete and their house becomes their home
I'm so pleased your DD brought her two hairy friends so you could catch up with some cwtches, should there be an A after the C?!
Brilliant real potting!!! 😯 😍🤗 I hope to resume with actual potting next year as my pots have become so very sad over the Covid months 😢😢 I've tried explaining the lack, but...
You enjoy the week ahead too.

Have a WONDERFUL WEEKEND (what's left of it!) folks. 🤩 Stay very safe and healthy

Potted a few more travel savings today. Potting overall going quite well I think.
Hopefully a nice break in Wales after pot has been opened and counted, and hopefully things a lot more straightforward by then when it comes to virus restrictions.
    Stay safe and healthy everyone.

Hi Potters!! Not all hot and sticky now, but it's supposed to be a lot cooler heat from here on - when the thunderstorms and rain allow. Stay safe and healthy!!
Any of our dear members who are either ill or low in any way, please do take great care, and I sincerely hope you'll all soon be well and back with us. :) For now, take great care and be kind to yourselves. 3

Well done with more potting then, Ant!! It's good to know you feel you're doing pretty darned well, and on target to be able to afford your time away, keep going Ant!!

Talking of breaks, hubby & I are off tomorrow for a week in North Devon!! 🤩😍 So looking forward to it.
Many holiday places are charging well over £1,000 for a week self catering!! 😯😯 Absolutely disgraceful to expect the public to cough up and make good any losses they've had!! 😡😡

I’m sure we all wish Sue a great holiday, and look forward to welcoming her back fully refreshed in a week or so. I have fond memories of holidays in North Devon  - Clovelly, Westward Ho! etc. Some lovely places down there.

Yes, have a lovely break Sue-UU, I hope the weather has been kind to you and you will return relaxed and contented.

Another busy weekend with DS, we managed to paint all the bedrooms, hall, stairs and landing and they are ready for new carpets to be fitted.  On Friday they move in and then the serious nesting can begin, it will be great for them to be settled before the baby arrives in September.  Speaking of babies, our DD and SIL are expecting their first child on Boxing Day, so it seems that babies are like buses; wait long enough and two turn up together.  To say I am delighted is the understatement of the year.  I am going to have to save all my pennies.........it's going to be an expensive year!

Another £9.41 in the pot today.  Have a lovely week Potters, keep saving! xx

So I have found another penny, and potted it along with a few quid from travel savings gained from working from home.
@siju What exciting news! Decorating drives me mad and is one of those things I wish I never started. But what a good reason for doing it. 2 babies coming along really is exciting.
Well done on the potting… Sounds like you’re gonna need it  :)
Hope everyone is well and having a decent week

Hello and sorry to have been AWOL for so long, just been a bit down in all honesty.  No potting either, just spending and July not looking cheap either!  The part of the car bill I added to my credit card is due and I am finally (yes a full year after getting the quote and lots of chasing) getting my roof done, although I won’t believe it until he’s actually up there!  And what the dickens have they done to this site now?  Took me ages to find you and then I can only click into the site if I have my tablet landscape.  For some reason if I have it portrait when I click on the thread it just removes my bookmark.  All very bizarre and user unfriendly.  It’s payday tomorrow so hoping to collect up all the change in my purse for potting.  I know what a cwtch is.  My nephew in law (Rhodri) is half Welsh although wasn’t born there.  His dad is from Kidwelly and English is actually his second language but he’s lived in Yorkshire for most of his life now.  My nephew and niece have Welsh names (Dylan and Alys) and gave the best cwtches when we were allowed.  Maybe soon we will be back to normal.  Have arranged to visit my aunt and uncle at the end of July for my uncles 90th birthday.  Not seen them since December 2019 when Alex was 6; he’s now 8.  Think it will be emotional ❤️
