Morning, sorry to hear of everybody’s woes at the moment, fingers crossed for better healthier times ahead.  I potted £5 at the weekend and there’s about another £5 in my purse which will join it as today is payday for me.  Spent more money than saved recently as I’ve  ordered a new shed.  Also I’ve decided to turn my small circular back lawn over to a wildflower meadow so have ordered some plug plants.  The advice is because it’s poor soil in full sun perennials are the way to go and also because there is existing (patchy) grass plugs are required.  There was some further advice about sprinkling yellow rattle seeds over in the second year as they will kill off any remaining grass.  Anyway we will see 🤞  The rest of the time I just seem to be planting endless seeds which at some point will mean endless pricking out!

Nothing to pot just popping in to say Hi,

Not been well since beginning of the year so haven't been spending any money or been able to pot many coins, but hopefully I will shake this "thing" off and get my spark back

Hi SPCers 😊 A happy Thursday to you!! Stay safe and healthy folks, the virus is still about!!

For all those who are either ill or low in any way, take great care and I sincerely hope you're all well and that you will soon be back with us.  For now, take care. 3

    Hi again little_sweetie
The Dr certainly got back quickly, an hour after!! 😳 She was brilliant too, and agreed about the infection and gave me antibiotics, but held back on the steroids as she didn't think it sounded as though it had got bad enough. I was quite happy as they're horrible for the chest problems! 😜 She wants me to ring back if I need to, so I'm perfectly happy with that.
I had to go back to the specialist Dr yesterday to get the results of my MRI scans on the lower spine, thankfully it's only the cervical (top) bones that are injured from the fall there's nothing else wrong with the rest of my spine! Thank the Lord for that. She wants me to see my Neurologist again as thinks have definitely got a lot worse with the seizures. It never rains....! However thankfully it's a  light rain.
Keep safe and get on out with G now we're able xxx

I've been in touch again with Steve's Son, sadly I'm afraid it isn't good news. When Simon first found him, Steve was unconcious at the bottom of the stairs, and they've no idea how long for!  He has 10 broken ribs, 6 in two places and has 14 metal plates in his chest, plus a punctured lung. He thinks he must have had a very bad fall as his chest was so badly hurt, though it's a miracle he didn't have even more injuries!! He's on a ventilator and Simon, and his Brother have been told he'll take a long tiime to recover, he's also got infections as a result of it all.
Thanks so very much for your prayers A, if you could kindly keep them up I'd be so grateful. 🙂

It's good to know you went to the allotment as it will have done you both so much good.
So many thanks for the hugs ... look out as mine are coming for you too! 😆

Hello DrCarrie, very well done with the £3 potted!

WOW Lost, that's over above the amounts potted for you!! 😳 Excellent !!
    Take care of yourself.

Very many thanks Hetty, me too! Good potting for you too!
A shed's always useful, so a very wise buy!
A fantastic idea to do the wildlife meadow, we've done part of ours also, anything to help Bees, Butterflies and all other flower- loving Insects, they certainly need all the help we can give. 🥰
We've also put some Fox Gloves (pinched a flower head from a plant last year for its seeds 🤭) in a more shady part of the garden, though they won't flower out until next year as they're biennial.
I've no idea about the Yellow Rattle seeds, but time will tell.
There's always plenty of pricking out to do at this time of year, but so rewarding!
    Take care 😍

Very well done, Money_Choices! Keep decluttering! 😉

...and £15 added to the SPC account!!

So sorry to hear you've not been well, Westie, and sincerely hope you very soon feel so much better. It's good to hear from you though but fingers crossed next time you post youll be in fine fettle. Take great care of yourself. xx

Have a wonderful WONDERFUL EASTER WEEKEND, folks!  Stay safe and healthy & WARM!   🤩

Hi Potters, just been catching up with the news :) Congratulations on your anniversary Jakesmum .  So sorry to hear your news Sue-UU, I hope things improve soon, although it sounds like this will be a long slow process. Thinking of everyone with aches and pains and thank you for your kind wishes re DH.  He is still not back to fighting fit although he has improved slightly but he's getting very impatient to get back to normal.  Nothing anyone can do except wait!
Last week was a great week.  It was my birthday (once again in lockdown!) We both had our appointments for our jabs, DH is next week and I'm the week after. Plus the best news of all  :#  I'm so excited!  Our DS and his partner are expecting their first child in September.  This will be grandchild number one of many I hope.  They gave me a birthday card with the scan in - I think I probably screamed  :joy:  It's given me such a burst of joy, I really can't express it in words.
Anyway, on to potting business - another fiver in the pot this week. Stay safe and well lovely Potters  :*

    Hello all,
A fair few people on here having difficulties at the moment. Thoughts and prayers with you all. Following slight relaxation in the rules my wife was able to see her Mum for the first time in months today, which was very uplifting for them both.
I was also able to go for a walk with a former work colleague who I was worried about, but was happy to find him doing really well and in good spirits.
Potted more travel savings and now looking forward to a 4 day break from working at home. My house can now be my home for 4 days rather than my workplace.
Happy Easter to you all and keep potting what you can, however little. It all adds up.

Good evening all.  My word we're all in the wars, aren't we? Sending love and hugs to all those who need it!
Not a lot of potting/saving to report, but my bank switch has completed, although not without a minor financial SNAFU but it's all sorted now - I just owe my mum some money for settling a payment in my old account that went before the switch completed and made me overdrawn again!!  Mum is also switching her account (technically it's a joint account as my name is on it for emergencies now that she's on her own) but the bank holiday has delayed that completing.
I see tooth pain is a thing at the moment.  I've also been afflicted.  Or so I thought.  Took myself off to the dentist a couple of weeks ago for the earliest appointment I could get, as I presumed it was my wisdom teeth playing up but I was in more pain than usual and painkillers weren't working.  She took x-rays, checked out my bite, and apart from the fact that I do grind my teeth in my sleep, couldn't come up with any reason for the pain.  So I phoned my doctors which was a faff - they'd just closed the triage list so I had to phone 111, put in a report with them, they then sent that to the doctors and by the time I phoned my GP back, they had the rreport and then put me on the list for a call back.  Ridiculous.  Yes, I'd already looked at the NHS website (the only place I would ever look) which suggested it might be an ear infection. Anyway the GP rang back and also thought it was likely to be an ear infection so has prescribed me some antibiotic spray, which I've got to use for at least 5 days.  Meanwhile I can't yawn or laugh very wide, my jaw hurts near my ear, and some things are difficult to eat!  I've been inhaling Weetabix and slicing bananas, trying to chew on one side, all that sort of stuff.  I personally don't feel it's getting any better so suspect I'll be back on the phone to the doctors after the holiday and I've used my drops for the prescribed number of days.  If I don't keep on top of the ibuprofen I can barely move my mouth although I'm trying not to take too much!  Fortunately though I can still talk OK!!  :D

Hi SPCers 😊 A happy Saturday to you!! Stay safe and healthy folks, the virus is still about!!

For all those who are either ill or low in any way, please take great care and I sincerely hope you're all well and that you will soon be back with us.  For now, take care and be kind to yourselves. 3

Very many thanks indeed, Siju, I dearly hope he pulls through it all, but yes it is going to be a very long haul. He's always been far more like a Brother as we were growing up and we had the very best of times when we were on holidays at my Mum's home town of Cirencester, Glos. Neither of us had siblings so we were very close and shared so much. I'm having so many prayers for him and hoping he pulls through.

So sorry to hear your Hubby's not really better. If he's allowed to go for short walks then I know it always helps DH & I.
I'm really chuffed you both have appointments for your jabs, in which case I doubt DH's and mine will be long either as we're certainly older than you. That 2nd one is the really important one for us all.

What a Birthday present!!!! 🤰 🚼👶 I'm absolutely delighted for you all Siju!! 🥰 There's nothing quite like that amazing indescribable joy you feel when given the news... the great waves of delight each time you think about it or wake up each morning!!
We had similar amazing news when our Granddaughter knocked on the door with a letter on Thursday, inside was the scan of her's & her DH's 3rd treasure!!!!! 🥰 Similar joyful excitement and that squeal of delight here too with our forthcoming 4th Great-grandchild, and especially our DD & SIL!!!! 🥰 They're besides themselves!! Of course we're all hoping it's a little girl as they have the 2 boys, but whichever it is we'll all be delighted and it will receive a very loving welcome in October!! ❤️
    Oooops! nearly forgot, great potting!!

Bless you Ant, thank you so very much indeed.
I'm so thrilled for your dear Wife being finally able to see he Mum after all this time!!!! I can the excitement shared by them both! ❤️ I'm so glad your colleague was not the way you'd thought, but in high spirits instead, marvellous news!! 😍 Mind you, looking forward to your walk will have helped him a great deal, and for that I'm delighted!
I'm pleased you're able to look forward to turning your house back into your home again!! 😍
Great savings Ant!! A very Happy Easter Ant!! xx

Hello welshspendthrift! It sounds as though you've had a slightly expensive time with your 2 little treasures, what a joy it is to do so too!
Thank you so much, I've only got 2 more antibiotics to go with the chest infection, all part of copd which dates back to me listening to adults saying "go on, have one, they won't do you any harm"!! 🙈 Thankfully I gave it up 23 years ago!
I've always had the epilepsy, but it gets really nastier at times, with me for some reason staying fully conscious! It's ok if I'm asleep as I'm always unconscious. Still, we'll see what the Neurologist says.
I dearly hope Steve pulls through, he's always been a large part of my life.

New Mums always struggle with tiredness in the early months, even more so when their Hubbies are hard at work. Also with her eldest little darling finding it hard in sharing her it must make it so difficult to say the least.
Still, thankfully you've been able to be there for her, and what a joy that must be for you!! 🥰
Have a lovely Easter and enjoy the family xx

Thanks so very much, MrsShazbat, I think we all need them.
I'm glad your account is sorted out.
I too used to grind my teeth a lot, but not anymore! My dentist had a guard made to go all over the bottom teeth, it worked wonders and completely stopped it!! Give it a try with your dentist, it doesn't take long to fix it.

Oooh you poor thing!! You're clearly in extreme pain, though it seems as though they've tried everything to get it under control. I sincerely hope they soon get to the real problem and are able to sort it out fully. Do please let us know, we hate it when other members of our SPC family are suffering in any way.
    Take great care.

Have a truly WONDERFUL EASTER WEEKEND, folks!  Stay safe and healthy & WARM!   🤩
