Oh dear @Hettyhound You’ve clearly done too good a job and the ducks have given it their unique seal of approval!Don’t worry Sue I was only jesting re the haircut. Got mine done this week and I feel so much better, although now have trouble recognising myself in the mirror without the David Bellamy beard!Added some more travel savings this week.
Met up outside early this morning with a couple of friends for a little bit of mindfulness and peace. It was great just to stop and marvel at the joys of creation. Right next to the river just listening to the birds with a nice hot cup of coffee. I thoroughly recommend just stopping and living in the moment every now and then.
Have a good rest of week everyone.27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 56 -
Couldn't agree more @AntoMac, I love to sit in my garden with a cup of coffee and watch the birds flitting around from our feeder to the trees. Sometimes we just need to stop, breathe and remind ourselves of the good things in life. Finished a tough yoga session this morning and feeling really energised (for now!) Feeling so much better now that my underwater head has cleared
No more potting to add this week, just wanted to wish everyone a lovely sunny weekend. Take care out there folks.........SPC 16 - #09 Totals: 2014 - £264.51 2015 - £207.50 2016 - £396.79 2017 - £369.49 2018 - £484.24 2019 - £309.90 2020 -£282.06 2021- £1839.89 2022 -£1627.835 -
Hi Potters 😊 I hope you've had a lovely week!!
Enjoy today and the weekend ahead. Stay safe and healthy folks!!
For all those who are either ill or low in any way, please take great care and I sincerely hope you're all well and that you will soon be back with us.For now, take great care and be kind to yourselves.
Oh how lovely Hetty...or not 🤭 Hubby & I had a couple that started to 'visit' us at our former home, we didn't even have a pond at the time, but they wanted the food! So much so that they used to jump up at the window and their beaks used to hit it, quite frightening at first - until we became used to it (suckers)!! They used to visit every day, crafty little terrors, they loved the maize and corn.Since we moved, DH put a pond in (with the liner) and also built a lovely little stream with a header tank flowing into the pond. We've had goodness knows how many different breeds of birds drinking and bathing in it, but as yet, no 🦆, but being in the country there are a few lakes around. There's nothing quite like to trickling of water.....unless of course you're bursting! All I can suggest is that you get your pond stocked with as many plants inside as well as vegetation outside, but around it. The plants will at least deter them from dive-bombing in to the pond! It might set you back a bob or two, but... very worthwhile.Brilliant getting a couple of pounds in the pot!!Don't worry Ant, I never thought for a moment that you would have wanted either of us to trim your locks 💇♀️ 💇♂️, we'd be more than a bit cagey of ruining our scissors or trimmer on anything like David Ballamey type hair or beard! 🙈You paint a beautiful scene of time spent with your friends Ant, make the very best of it. I'd highly recommend your recommendations too, after all you honestly can't wish for better! ☺️Hubby & I thoroughly enjoy all wildlife, you too quite clearly.Great potting by the way!!It's such a delight to know you're free from that awful experience, Siju! 😍I must admit that Yoga's never really appealed to me, but you never know. I'm glad you enjoyed yours.Another tree and bird lover I know, though if everyone spent time just watching and listening, they'd be so very well rewarded. You too have a wonderful weekend, everyone else too. ☺️£20 more transferred to the SPC account!!!!Have a truly really BEAUTIFUL WEEKEND, folks! Stay safe and healthy! 🤩Sue xxNB Folks: Opening date for this year is 28th October 2021

You are so lucky with your roadkill @AntoMac
I haven't found any for so long!
Well we had a lovely weekend, did a bit out in the garden on Saturday as we are creating a secret garden in an area that has been left untouched for many years. It's coming along nicely now, the path has been laid and we are constructing a deck with recycled plastic boards. A local café was doing a picnic lunch for two, so we sat in the sun in the garden and ate our picnic. On Sunday we took a drive to a nearby garden centre and bought some plants for said secret garden. The greenhouse is now full of plants, we just want to be sure the frosts are over before planting out as it's still jolly chilly here overnight. We've always got a project on the go
Another £5.01 in my pot this week. Goodness me, May next weektime is just flying by. Enjoy the rest of your week, Potters, stay safe

Good evening all. Well, another couple of weeks has flown by since my last post. My jaw didn’t improve so I did end up calling my GP again and he diagnosed Temporomandibular Joint Disorder which is what the NHS website said (he said my dentist should have diagnosed it) but 🤷🏼♀️ Anyway he prescribed some muscle relaxants and it is a lot better although I get a sharp reminder if I forget to be careful when eating or yawning! It’s all related to the neck strain I had prior to that caused by the dog pulling.
Well, my mum’s bank switch didn’t go to plan. Basically all her direct debits and everything got cancelled so her rent didn’t get paid, her mobile phone got cut off, her online food order got cancelled (although to make matters worse the driver still turned up to deliver it and had to take it back) and so on. We only realised when she started getting new direct debit forms through the post, and we couldn’t understand why. Over Easter while I was on leave I spent half a day phoning between M&S, Nationwide and my mum trying to get to the bottom of what had happened. Her Nationwide account balance also stayed at zero so we had to find out where the previous balance from her M&S account had gone and purely by chance found out it had been transferred to one of her savings accounts! Long story short, we found out this week that when I did my own switch, because my name is on my mum’s account, M&S also closed her account and put the money into the savings account! They couldn’t explain how or why, and sent her compensation of £750 for the inconvenience which she very kindly split with me. So that has gone back into my savings account. Meanwhile we’re waiting to hear back from Nationwide to see what happened at their end because the switch failed and they didn’t seem to pick up on it or contact us to see why there wasn’t any money in the new account. You would imagine that they would at some point, surely? Anyway it’s partly sorted and all the payments are set up again. There’s just the matter of one pension payment to come in which should be this weekend and should hopefully be doubled up as the last one didn’t come. Fingers crossed.
I actually potted a £2 coin today, so that’s a total of £4 so far! 🤣 The good news is that I’ve saved over £200 now with Plum 👍🏻👍🏻Love and hugs to all those who need them xxSPCNo.18 #20 (17 £562.86 16 £678; 15 £1120.92; 14 £416.53; 13 £191.52; 12 £260.48; 11 £480.95; 10 £682.31; 9 £442.64)

So we’re halfway through SPC14. I hope people are managing to save reasonably well.
Potted some more travel savings so hopefully on track to hit my target, although part of the beauty of this challenge is not always knowing how much you’ve saved till declaration day.
@MrsShazbat - That’s a right old mess with your Mum’s Bank account transfer. The switching advert says it’s so easy but in reality messes like this certainly put people off. Very nice amount of compensation though. At least they admitted to a royal !!!!!! up.
My cousin had a similar problem with her jaw. Not nice

Crikey, the exclamation marks that have appeared weren’t intended to be a rude word - maybe MSE blocks it out. I would never intentionally post a swear word on here. It was just meant as another word for mess up27/5/17 Mort 64705 BTs 1904031/12/17 Mort 59815 BT 1673007/04/20 Mort 49208 BT 1572128/07/20 Mort 47387 BT 1263414/11/20 Mort 45905 BT 10134 20/05/21 Mort 42335 BT 686811/08/22 Mort 32050 BT 2915Sealed Pot Challenge 16 Number 54

Another 20p, Ant?!! 😳 Oooh what a wonderful week it was, no doubt we all really enjoyed the sun, the warmth too. Now back to the wet stuff...and when will it stop! I see we'll be stuck between 2 lows at the weekend, and then blow me if another isn't coming along on Monday!! 😱 Let's hope we just might be stuck between 3 highs sometime soon! 🥰Oh I do love the sound of your Secret Garden, Siju 🤩 It sounds idyllic, and as it's previously been left untouched I'd imagine you've got a blank drawing board, fantastic! What a lovely weekend, especially the picnic lunch, it'll be lovely to look ahead to times such as that when you can have them in your Secret Garden!Oh dear MrsShazbat, what a palarvar!! 🙄 I'm really pleased you've at least got some pain relief with the muscle relaxants, though I hope you're fully able to get to the root of the problem via your dentist or...! All related to the pulling from a dog, it makes you think just how easily these things can happen, though dogs are very powerful creatures! Then you've had the banking dilemma! What a worry for you and your Mum! 😳 Let's hope Nationwide now get their act together and stop you both from getting greyer and greyer - or white! Let's hope they too compensate you.Fingers crossed you'll be happily sorted out when you next post.Well done with your saving! You're doing really well with the Plum app. ☺️Love and hugs to you also xxDon't worry Ant, knowing you, I honestly wouldn't have given thought that the exclamation marks were intended for anything other than what you intended, and I've used those myself now and again. Don't give it another thought.Whilst we're on the topic, I've always been so proud of the fact that none of our SPC family use swear words, which as we all know, are never called for anyway. 🤩Great potting! Enjoy the rest of the week.Sorry everyone, but like many others, I've been unable to send my post here on SPC due to problems on MSE, fingers crossed!!Have a truly really LOVELY WEEK, folks! Stay safe and healthy! 🤩Sue xxNB Folks: Opening date for this year is 28th October 2021
