Gumtree Buyer Reported My Bank Account

i very recently sold a diamond pendant i have not worn for years on Gumtree.
The buyer wanted it posted to them because they live in Ireland and im in Manchester so they didnt want to collect it in person due to the distance.
i posted it by special delivery as soon as the buyers payment cleared in my account.
The buyer contacted me the next day to say it had not arrived. I checked the tracking on royal mail and it said it had been delivered and signed for.
2 hours later my bank called to say i had been reported for fraud and my account was being frozen.
I called into a local branch and gave them documents to support my case.
This morning the buyer called me to say he is a barrister and will not let this drop. Says he is going to send the item off to forensics and he will have me in court.
The buyer told me and my bank it didnt arrive then they said it had arrived but was not identical to the one i advertised on gumtree.
They are trying to initiate a chargeback from my bank.
The buyer said i told him i lived somewhere else other than manchester which is rubbish.
What should i do?

So how can a item that did not arrive, be sent for forensics?

    Chargeback on a faster payment?

You have done all you can.

Talk of a Barrister is just a load of rubbish.

At this moment I would leave this with your bank.

The "barrister"? should know a bank transfer is not recoverable. Forensics LOL

    From Gumtree help:

    Bank Transfers

Like money wiring services, bank transfers may appear to offer a safe way to transfer money between a buyer and seller. However, once you have sent funds they are almost immediately transferred into the account of the recipient. If a deal was to fall through, or you were unhappy with the item you had paid for, your money is not protected. Transfers offer few options for a refund beyond the good will of the seller. We always urge caution when transferring money by bank. We recommend that you are completely satisfied with the item before committing to the transaction.

The buyer has just phoned me again to say the item they received is being posted to their local garda to see if any of my DNA etc is on it.
Buyer asked what the packaging looked like i said you received it you tell me to which they replied see you in court.
I dont know if they paid by BACS or used a credit card or if it was a faster payment. My bank cannot tell me that information.
Buyer is also saying they have plenty of money and even if my bank sides with me and doesnt reimburse them they will have me in court for defamation of character.

So how can an item they don't have be posted onto the local garda? Also if they were that worried would they not take it there directly?

That's laughable.  If you still have the money, ignore all messages from this chancer, but keep them in case your bank needs them.  Do not respond.  He's bluffing.

    Oh come on....
It's clearly stated on your bank statement how they paid. Which bank is it that can not tell you how it was paid? (we all need to steer clear of them) And unless you are a business then you can't take card payments...
