Gumtree Buyer Reported My Bank Account
Comments
-
Oops. I said that he must contact my bank and let them know he wants to withdraw the fraud complaint to unfreeze my account.
Then once I receive my item back in the condition in which I sent it to him he will be refunded.
I texted this to him also.
He phoned me from a different number and said no I'm not getting my item returned until he gets paid by my bank and then myself.
In other words he wants a double refund and likely wants to keep my item too.0 -
I unblocked him so I could send him a text and give him time to reply back.
If I do happen to have the police arrive at my door this is some proof of me trying to resolve the issue.0 -
What does worry me is that my bank might side with him.0

Why would they do that? Do you know they have good reason to believe you are a scammer?Let's see the video!!!!0

Has the bank frozen all activity on your account? You have zero access to funds? There are only two reasons I can recall off the top of my head why a bank would do this, and neither of them involve a random person contacting the bank and accusing the account holder of being involved in fraud. Actually, the fact that you've been told by the bank why they've frozen the account reduces the possible scenarios to just the one, and that still isn't what you've described. You appear to have no comprehension of how banks work behind the scenes, and the GDPR aspects of your tale alone render your story unbelievable, let alone the rest of what you have described.0

beyer78 said:I spoke with him earlier. I told him if he wants to be reimbursed by me then he has to contact my bank and lNo they can't contact your bank and stop the fraud claim...
In that case they would need to contact their bank who would contact yours..
But that will put them is a difficult position with their bank on making a false claim. This just gets better....Life in the slow lane0 -
I don't have a solicitor.
Santander have informed me over the phone and in branch of the buyers allegations.0
