@AdsWhoAdds I took a refund for our holiday at the end of August as I felt if we moved it I'd probably end up having to change it again anyway. We used the money to buy us a treadmill & small chest freezer instead!Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

@1LuckyLady That's a thought! Like they say they don't think we're going to be back to normal til 2022 so I could use the money towards paying off my phone contract which would mean i have more available funds each month, instead of just paying off the bottomless pit that is my loans! it was a Christmas pressie for OH however since booking it i've taken control of my finances and we should definitely be doing joint holidays seem so he's quite well off and i've been in the red for years, the more i type the more i'm talking myself in to taking the refund ££ lol.5

We had our May holiday cancelled we took a refund instead of rescheduling as we wanted to do various things in the area and couldn't guarantee they would have reopened. Currently, the money is sitting in our holiday savings pot until we decide we want to go away.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

@AdsWhoAdds If it were me, I'd do that. I'd pay something off and then build into my monthly budget saving for your next holiday. I've continued to pay into my holiday pot and will have enough by January to pay for next years butlins break if we decide/are able to go.

We had our hire boat holiday in Belgium cancelled in April. We have rescheduled it for this coming April but if it doesn't happen this time (this will be the third time it has been rescheduled it landed when we moved house the first time!) we will take a refund and put the money towards something else.Baileys_Babe said:We had our May holiday cancelled we took a refund instead of rescheduling as we wanted to do various things in the area and couldn't guarantee they would have reopened. It is a large chunk of money sat in Le Boat's account not ours!7

Thank you all for your advice! I think I am going to take the refund, use it to pay off my phone contract and i'll be better off each month. It's the snowball effect i suppose, more money to make it easier to pay the higher interest debt.
Also payed of Klarna so i am officially 3/3 on my weekly goals!
Going to keep making soup for the weekend even though i will be home, it is sooo cheap and weekend lunches tend to be my diet downfall

Doing ok with my list today and I've also... checked on some dates on gift cards I have in my purse,  one for primark but its got another year on it (I thought it was only valid for 1yr but its 2yrs) and the other is vue cinemas,  I've sent them a dm on twitter to ask if they can extend the expiry date,  worth a try.. if they won't then I might pop in at the weekend and buy £35 worth of food as I can't see us going to see a film anytime soon (and our local one is only open now Friday-Mon) checked on some dates on gift cards I have in my purse,  one for primark but its got another year on it (I thought it was only valid for 1yr but its 2yrs) and the other is vue cinemas,  I've sent them a dm on twitter to ask if they can extend the expiry date,  worth a try.. if they won't then I might pop in at the weekend and buy £35 worth of food as I can't see us going to see a film anytime soon (and our local one is only open now Friday-Mon) Put chicken carcasses and veg feelings in the slow cooker for stock,  will then use this tomorrow to make some soup for the weekend,  good thinking there @AdsWhoAdds weekends are dieting trouble spots for me too! Done a bit of decluttering,  I'm sure that Wales will go for the 2 week circuit break over half term so want to try and get as many tidying jobs done now before having the kids home for two weeks! I started writing this post about 10 am but I have been distracted since then, partly by lessons but mainly by dd who is teething, it is one of her adult molars, it is causing her quiet a bit of discomfort and she is struggerling to eat and as a result she is hungry. For dinner last night she decided to have smooth soup with a slice of hm bread to dip in, the rest of the soup she drank through a metal straw. Teething has always made her feel unwell 😢
Today started off sunny but then the rain arrived and it has been showering on and off most of the day.
 Plans for today:
 ⭐ NSD ✔
 ⭐ Update freezer inventory ✔️
⭐ Make biscuits for my Sisters birthday present ✔
 ⭐ Make us a cake ✔
⭐ Wear appropriate clothes instead of putting the central heating on ✔️
⭐ Dry the washing inside on the airer ✔️
⭐ Put the dehumidifier on to help the washing to dry and to stop the house getting damp, it will also have the added bonus of drying out the shower room fully as the airer is close by ✔️
 Daily:
 🍄B/L/D from stores 👍👍👍👍
 🍄Home educate the children 👍👍👍👍
 🍄Pmp etc 👍👍👍👍
 🍄Continue my email project 👍👍👍👍
🍄 Close the curtains before it gets to keep the heat in 👍👍👍👍
🍄 Open the curtains fully to make the most of the natural light 👍👍👍👍
 🍄 Ongoing survey 👍👍👍👍

            Goals W/C 12th Oct
 1. Spend less than £50 entertainment probably not going to be hard this week. £0 - feeling confident we aren't going to spend £50 especially being in lockdown lol
 2. £10 groceries spend (have everything we need so should not be spending anymore than a few quid on milk or loaf of bread). £5.40 bought milk and a little box of white Lindt chocolates for wife. She loves them but won't buy chocolate for herself.
 3. Check and update the Yolt app daily. Done but nothing to update. It told me I’ve spent £2900 less than this time last month!
 4. Structured work days - 9am starts 5.45pm finishes, emails off in evening. Lunch with wife. Eat dinner with family rather than wife cooking twice. Working from home all week (lockdown) apart from fee earners booked. Check really bad night waking up so despite short working day due to counselling was glad to switch the emails off
 5. Train with wife 4x this week. Going to regret this I know haha. She’s already decided what we’re doing so no chance of backing out now. Rest thank god lol felt like a zombie all day.
 6. Activity with son everyday - probably going to be dog walk not going to be allowed to do much else... Dog walk and bedtime story. Wanted to stay in but felt better after wife got my coat and dragged me out of the house tonight lol5
