Good Evening
Hi to all of the regulars and a BIG welcome to all the newbies, this is a really FAB thread with so many lovely, caring, considerate and supportive people.
Thanks for starting us off today @determined_new_ms, hope all those feeling under the weather pick up soon.
Not much done here today apart from a quick shopping trip as I really didn't want to be mooching round a large shopping centre, got what was neededand home again really dehydrated (from mask) and with a banging headache (think from lack of sleep/quality of sleep, stressing about being out, DD's dogs are causing a little mayhem so thats causing a bit of friction too. So today looked like this
Wished our gorgeous "Purps" farewell and thanked her for her friendship over the years
Checked Bank & make PAD
All meals from cupboards/fridge/freezer
Check: Lucky Bob, PMP, WinaDinner
Slept all afternoon
Have a good eveing.

Got up after not being able to sleep should probably try again but anyway...
Goals W/C 12th Oct
1. Spend less than £50 entertainment probably not going to be hard this week. £0
2. £10 groceries spend (have everything we need so should not be spending anymore than a few quid on milk or loaf of bread). £0
3. Check and update the Yolt app daily. Done
4. Structured work days - 9am starts 5.45pm finishes, emails off in evening. Lunch with wife. Eat dinner with family rather than wife cooking twice. Working from home all week (lockdown) apart from fee earners booked. Day 1 managed. Emails off too like being on holiday lol.
5. Train with wife 4x this week. Going to regret this I know haha. She’s already decided what we’re doing so no chance of backing out now. Day 1 survived. Actually really enjoyed it.
6. Activity with son everyday - probably going to be dog walk not going to be allowed to do much else... Dog walk in the rain.
7. Not punch the TV when Boris announcement happens tomorrow... OK that one is not real lol. Success. Didn’t even watch him so no danger of needing to buy another TV haha.7 -

Morning folks!
@determined_new_ms - my coach let us take equipment home and carried on programming last time so hopefully I will keep up this time. Seems frustrating that gyms are being shut but resturants are being left open - I fully understand the need for extra measures but I haven't heard that gyms are bad for spreading cases.
@little_pink_purse - good to "see" you!
@alt80 - sounds like you're building a bit of momentum with your changes
Well if you hadn't guessed, I'm in the very high risk lockdown area. The city isn't known for its love of tories and I think that this is only going to raise their suspicions further! (alt80 - I'm guessing you are somewhere nearby too?)
Today's list:
B/L/D from stores
Sort out veg box later
OH to do the housework
Finish toe on sock
Have a good one all

Thank you @determined_new_ms for this weeks thread.
After last weeks very sad news I've had a few days off line but feel ready to get back to our "small things" ways this morning. Also ds2 is back to school this morning after his school years 2 week isolation period.
@Baileys_Babe I hope you're new routine worked well yesterday.
@carrielovesfanta When I saw the news last night, I thought of you and your gym, its obvious how much you love it.
So todays list
Make dh a packed lunch as although he's wfh, he's going to be tied up in virtual meetings all day unexpectedly (I shall miss his company at lunchtime) ✅
Check banking/get spreadsheet up to date - I'm behind as ds2 has been on the computer doing school work. ✅
Rm survey ✅
Meal plan and then update tomorrows mr T click and collect
Write up 3 recipes into my recipe folder,
- lemon curd which I made for the first time at the weekend using some lemons from the liddl veg box last week✅
- cottage pie ✅
- Purps mushroom stroganoff, which has become a firm family favourite since she posted it for me in August ✅
Prep the boys packed lunches for tomorrow, saves us a fortune on school dinners and they eat much healthier. ✅
Not get suckered into buying something I don't need from the rainforest people just because they're having a prime day - dh has already asked me twice this morning to have a look to see if there is anything we need - we don't NEED anything!
Take care one and all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Morning everybody so I have a day off work ill, as (not very ill) waiting on a test, was poorly yesterday with a very sore throat and thought it better to get tested.
Anyways so while I don't have a lot of money left this month - my budget almost reflects whats actually left in my account. A magic moment. So I evened out the numbers ths morning:
Current: £10
Everyday saver £150 bills and groceries
Housing £260
EF and Citizenship fund £1,467.78 - thats where all the pennies go!
Not a bad start for somebody who has nothing!
The squirrel in my garden is now my main inspiration, I squirrel away money here and there, an acorn there and an old fig here! Have a lovely Tuesday everybody.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%
Weight loose 8.6 kg - while having fun. 0/8.6 0%
Focus debt to clear HSBC £10/1111, 0% updated May 256 -
@carrielovesfanta thanks trying to work on the mindset to stop the spending tbf. Still feels like a punishment some days being conscious of what I’m (not) spending.
I’m based in Nottingham so only ‘high’ in the end although one paper reported we were the Covid capital at the weekend. Liverpool is a brilliant city always loved a weekender there nightlife good, shopping good now with Liverpool One must be a great place to live - do think you’ve been singled out tbh when Newcastle etc have been high for ages. My (probably unpopular) opinion is it’s all the big uni cities with a decent nightlife that have high rates - not sure it’s corresponding in death rates? Tbf I’m keeping away from the news right now does nothing for my anger level haha.4 -
I think that the region's been particuarly singled out due to the number of high-risk infections and hospitalisations - I think it's a higher propertion of older people. I'm not from around here originally but I know that a lot of the locals will definitely see it as a deliberate move. There's that famous memo to Margaret Thatcher that detailed how Liverpool should be put into a managed decline and that is doing the rounds on Facebook again.alt80 said:@carrielovesfanta thanks trying to work on the mindset to stop the spending tbf.
