@ditty1234 I hope your test result comes back soon, and negative.Post office this morning to post some ebay sales, and restocked my sales unit whilst in town.Other things:Early morning dog walk, free exercise while not many other people are about
No heating on, though it is chilly, and I will light the stove in a bit.Put some sales stuff away in the loftLeftovers for lunch - vegan aubergine curry I made for myself for dinner last night, used up some of the aubergines I had grown
I am not a vegan but am very happy to eat cook and eat vegan food that contains only veg, grains and fruit and no strange additives. This curry was from the BBC Food web site, and was lovely (and quick, and very easy). I will definitely make it again
OH likes meat more than I do (I don't bother with it when he isn't around) but even when he is here we don't have it every day by any means.Icyland shopping arrived, now unpacked and put awayGot chicken curry and flatbreads out for dinner tonight - OH is back later (was away last night), and I don't mind having curry twice in one day
Made an apple crumble to use up sorry looking apples from fruit bowlBlitzed some rather soft HG tomatoes to make a tub of, yes, you guessed it, chopped tomatoes. Now in freezer. There is more stuff to put away in the loftAnd boxes to put back in the garageAnd the dog needs another walkThat will do for today.5 -
After my big zeros post this morning - I now truly have no money after I have paid my citizen fee. So far I have now paid 1850 in fees in total and will have paid over 2 grand by the time I get my uk passport. The admin cost apparently is £500 so somebody's making money on Brexit. Moving on. The big day will be when I get my name changed, get it own old name on my passport and then hopefully wont have to deal with any other citizenship issues for about a decade.
That has seen me now eradicate a few major frogs and I also had a long chat with an other teacher friend about creativity and burn out!
In terms of small things I made a lovely grilled vege lunch.
And no my test have not come back yet! Thanks Dawn :-)Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Cold and wet here today, thankfully we have no plans to go out, @DawnW dog wouldn't like it. The room where OH works was 16.2 degrees today, not fun when you are sitting at a screen all day. The room is off our living room where our multifuel stove is so we have lit the stove so OH is more comfortable whilst he works and we all have one warm room. In the past when OH worked mainly in the office I would light the stove later but I am able to get up and move about if I am getting cold whereas he doesn't have this option.
Yesterday did work better @1LuckyLady thanks for asking. I need to remember we need to get organised on Sunday.
Plans for today:
⭐ NSD ✔️
⭐ Check bank accounts ✔️
⭐Update freezer inventory ✔️
⭐ Box up, label and freeze most of the bolognese I made yesterday, I'm thinking there is enough for tonight plus 2 further family meals ✔️ I underestimated how much I had made, I ended up with 5 family-sized portions, one for tonight and 4 for the freezer 😃
⭐ Wear appropriate clothes instead of putting the central heating on ✔️
⭐ Light the stove as it is cold here ✔️
⭐ Put the kettles on top of the stove for free hot water ✔️
⭐ Write the shopping list ✔️
⭐ Make rolls for tomorrows packed lunch ✔️

Goals W/C 12th Oct
1. Spend less than £50 entertainment probably not going to be hard this week. £0
2. £10 groceries spend (have everything we need so should not be spending anymore than a few quid on milk or loaf of bread). £0
3. Check and update the Yolt app daily. Done
4. Structured work days - 9am starts 5.45pm finishes, emails off in evening. Lunch with wife. Eat dinner with family rather than wife cooking twice. Working from home all week (lockdown) apart from fee earners booked. Day 2 been in and out of house. On hold on phone for 2 hours so been working on and off this evening. Not switched email notifications off.
5. Train with wife 4x this week. Going to regret this I know haha. She’s already decided what we’re doing so no chance of backing out now. Planned rest day.
6. Activity with son everyday - probably going to be dog walk not going to be allowed to do much else... Erm not tonight.5 -
- Make packups for rest of week - off to a good start 2/4, soup recipe lined up for thurs and fri
- Pay old but small debt that's been lingering around for a year now... - done ✅
- Pay Klarna for small clothes shop I did couple of weeks ago - still outstanding
Car flew through MOT no advisory’s which happy about. But OMG how much is a service nowadays?! Normally I’ve paid £500 for 3 years servicing and mot with my previous leases but I’m on my own two feet now. Thought she was reading out a reference number of some sort when she said how much???!! *facepalm* but I guess that’s what the emergency fund is for.5 -
@AdsWhoAdds Depends on the car tbh. £500 for three years is very cheap. The first service on mine is over £500.5

Fair enough. They were PCP cars previously so I think they sell you cheap mot and servicing as it’s in their interest to get a car with full history back... and they have the turnover to price low I suppose unlike my small family garage for my small family car 😔 first service I know of to the car too so imagine pretty much every filter has been changed!alt80 said:@AdsWhoAdds Depends on the car tbh. £500 for three years is very cheap. Today I have had to remind my family repeatedly that light switches turn light off as well as on, all 3 of them were to blame.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
