Morning all, Fayolle I fully understand your thoughts on DD not being able to plan for the future. We have the same here, DD2 is in her last year at uni and needs to find a 6 month internship to finish her engineering masters, in an ideal (or normal) world most of the students find an internship in the company they would eventually like to work for, but who is recruiting any one now. Both are girls finish their studies this year (the older one will be a junior doctor by September 2021 so will at least have work) and want to plan for the next stage but it is just imposible and very wearing. Not been back to the UK for almost a full year now which is getting to me too, I know I chose to move abroad but it is only 5 hours door to door in the car, so near yet so far.
Ok moan over, we're all well and compared to so many doing absolutely fine, so let's just get on with the day.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Lunch and dinner sorted
Spending spreadsheet updated
Working this afternoon but shadowing a new teacher, 3-4 year olds and the theme is South African animals so lion, giraffe, hippo etc, target language to understand 'what can you see?', target language to speak the names of a few animals, yes & no, plus revise numbers & colours from previous weeks. I've already found a nice story for them so we should have plenty of fun. Need to plan a bit more for adults tomorrow but I know the theme 'if I .......' so just need to find some exercises for them and maybe a listening comprehension.
Off to chase the hoover round downstairs.
Hugs, spoons & SMILES8 -
Good morning!
I am up, dressed, breakfasted, WM on, emails & bank accounts checked. I am trying to decide on a plan for today. I may give the allotment a miss as we have had so much rain. I have some frogs to munch, a few bits to get from Mr S & dinner to prepare.
Todays list:
phone company that did boiler service - the water only gets luke warm now - have they tinkered with a thermostat?
phone doc for flu jab
phone V re tv/broadband - can I get costs down??! (MSE!)
put chilli in SC
wash hair - clean shower
laundry shuffle
empty food bin into Lottie the Hottie
If I get time I may do a bit of a garden tidy. I have stuff to plant, seedlings to pot on & ground to clear to the compost
Hugs to those that are worrying and/or struggling at work, esp ASB, YL & Valli.
Ok - I had better get on a DO something!!
Have a good day everyone!7 -

gutted the backroom.. filled half a wheelie bin!Renewed litter in the 2 big traysDW x3
WM x4
Curtains washed from the backroomVacuumed through downstairs and swept the kitchen.Bleached the sinkFolded and put away 2 loads of washing
cats all fed twice.
Sent Boog to shop and to collect prescription.. some deluded jobsworth in Sainsbugs thought it was ok to tell Boog he wasn't allowed in without a badge saying he is mask exempt.. I said the badges are not mandatory and mean nothing so she was just being a b**** and has no legal right to not allow you in as it is not company policy.. or maybe she just thought he looked like a homeless person ... but DS2 was allowed in.. A strongly worded email is being sent... Only because I am feeling that way out.. ordinarily I'd say suck it up and next time preach chapter and verse.
Quote for windows got.. quote for external insulation got and quote for damp sorting got.. I am very peopled today.
I now have the form to fill out for Dots Sleep Clinic referral, the green home grant forms to fill out and tomorrow I need an appointment with the quack to get Dots ASD referral underway.
And I sliced my little finger open with a spaghetti hoop tin.. so that is 2 fingers with splendid cuts on them now. I am a walking disaster this week.
I haven't sat down but I am not sure I have done anything off the actual list!
Have a splendid evening chappies.. and I will go update my pg 1 list and crack on with these forms.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)6 -
Good luck with the referral for Dot Pigpen, sad that you have to fight for these things but that is the only way you can get anywhere. Narco hope you can make the numbers add up and you can find a way of being able to keep the range.
Headache persisted all day, but has eased a bit now. Its stress, I am doing everything I can to counteract it, this will pass.
Went to meet my 10 day old great nephew today, wore my mask and distanced from his parents as I gave him a cuddle, how tiny he is, I marvel at the fact that mine were ever that small!
Curry out of the freezer for tea, have run the hoover around downstairs and tidied up, DW on. The three of us sat together at the table and had our curry and DS was making us laugh telling us about something that had happened at work, I had one of those moments when I realised just how much I have to be thankful for.
Laptop off now, time to read my book and another early night I think x9 -
Some things crossed off my list. Phoned docs re flu jab - they are only doing appointments for over 65's. I was advised to go to the pharmacy. I think I will do that, and put the cost through my books. If I wasn't dealing with germy kids every day I would wait my turn at the docs! I did book a smear though, which is overdue so that is a frog munched.
I didn't call about the boiler, as the water was hot earlier - I don't know what is going on there! And I am also procrastinating about the b/band/TV, as I hate calling call centres! I am currently waiting for them to reply to the 'chat' I have opened. I don't hold out much hope, as it hasn't worked the previous 2 times!!
I have WULTD, put on DW, FUPA 2 loads of clean washing and cut my hair! I took off about 4 inches off the back, but it's still long! I then vac'd up the bedroom & landing, emptied & cleaned the brush head. Did a small shop at Mr S's, cooked dinner & that's about it!
ETA I have closed down the 'chat' (if you can call it that!!) as they had not replied after an hour and a half!! I may have to call them tomorrow......7 -

Uni today so all I managed before I set off was to put one load of washing in the machine, mentally plan dinner and write up some of last week's report.
Student was better than I had expected and clearly dyslexic so will be easy to write up. Starting to take a flask of coffee to uni, very MSE, as the nearest uni cafe is *bucks which I hate; the room I am now in is converted from the staff kitchen so I can't make my own.
No dire warnings from uni about any impending closure, but I was glad to see my SEIS arrived in the bank today as I'm still convinced that the work will be intermittent this year. Checked bank account in general, not too bad although not up to the usual standard for this time of year. This week's c00p offer is a free bar of chocolate, can't miss out on that.....
As my brother is here, we had arranged to Zoom a mutual London-dwelling friend which was fun. She's resigned to London receiving stricter rules soon and she's struggling to get to work at times as so many of the bridges are under repair. Like many other people, she'd planned a 60th birthday party and various trips including relatives in Aus but that won't happen. I'll have to think of something really nice for her in November as she lives alone and gets quite lonely; she's usually out and about a lot with friends.
Just written tomorrow's lesson plan for my workplace student (Zoom).
No communication from GP about flu jab, I'm supposed to get one because Mr N is vulnerable and he had his last week. All I've had in the last week are letters about bowel c screening, smear appt and next week I have a mammogram. ALL I WANT IS A FLU JAB.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all, quick check in from me before I head off for a very full day at work, but as all is planned and printed I actually feel quite calm about it, escpecially as I then have 2 weeks off. Also huge relief as our president announced new restrictions last night but there are no travel restrictions so can still go an get DD2 for a weeks half term. Curfew doesn't affect us as we live in a small village and in an area that is not too badly hit. Plenty of other restrictions in place but they are liveable with.
Bed made, clothes picked up
Lunches made
Recycling out
Dinner in SC
No money spent Tuesday & Wednesday, except fuel but that is a planned expense and nothing will be spent today, hopefully my bank account will appreciate it.
Hugs & spoons for all that want, keep SMILING.8 -
Morning all,
Very quick one from me, I have had a stress headache too YL for almost 16 hours. Hope yours has eased.
Horrid day at work yesterday, I just cried when I got home, then pulled myself together. I honestly hate it so much at the moment. Anyway, in MSE news at least I can charge my phone there free of charge!Spaghetti bolognese for dinner. Looks like we are headed for tier 3, I am not sure it will make much difference anymore we've become such hermits! Right last doldrums post from me I promise, off to the coal face have fab days all xx8 -
Many thanks for kind thoughts - very much appreciated. Moany opening to post deleted.
non-work Thursday today so that's good. House is a tip but I am looking forward to bills (leccy and water) as they should be plummeting...DW running every other day maximum - sometimes it's 3 days! Washing has gone down too. Have a load on line - not much there though.
I plan to do kitchen and bathroom today...
I have rung GP - just got the under 65's flu doses in so I should be hearing shortly.
