Bathrooms cleaned. Hair washed and tamed. Upstairs bins emptied and some bits from the utility draining board have been shoved into cupboards. Dinner will be assembled from bits turned out of one drawer of the freezer, plus some hidden lentils - cheap, and I have a kilo bag on the side with no cupboard home to go to.
Oh and I cleaned the hob earlier, even scrubbing the gas metal cover thingys.Mse success of the day - managed to degunk and destain a k!lner bottle that DH had stored sloe gin in for too long, using coarse salt and white vinegar. Whoever knew, certainly not me.
Wm full of towels has just finished, so they are going outside until it decides to rain.7 -
Late arrival from me, but I have just got in from work, but before I went out bed was made and clothes picked up, lunches done and quick tidy around the kitchen. I have just dealt with all the post, filed or in recycling;
A quick cuppa and then I'll get on with something

Hi all
Thanks ASB, work was hideous yesterday but I survived x School sounds awful, our local secondary has an entire year group off too, they wont go back until after half term. My SIL is tearing her hair out, it isnt doing my nephew any good at all.
Woke up this morning with a headache which has persisted all day, managed to spend 8.5 hours staring at a laptop which wasnt helpful. Endless problems at work, I swear I have done something to upset some mysterious force out there that is now making my work life as difficult as possible.
Two loads of washing done and dried in the tumbler, I just couldnt be bothered setting the airer up. DH been off today so I told him he could do roast dinner which was lovely. Feet up now, wont be late to bed.
Tomorrow is another day x8 -
Well.. I have utterly trashed my bedroom under the guise of 'tidying' .. I found a scan picture of my Jasper.. DD1 has a Jasper .. but mine was lost before he got to live ... had he not gone I wouldn't have DD1 so it's not all bad and it was 27 years ago so not even sad about any of it. He was the only lost one who got a name, he had a name from day dot.. Had he lived Moomin would have a different name too.. how weird that seems.. anyway.. I sent DD1 a pic.. so she has 2 Jaspers.
I still can not find the baptism card for Squeak.. I have a few more places to tear apart..
I got my paypal refund through.. I paid for a top and 2 masks on 24th July with 1-2 day dispatch on the masks and 2 weeks on the otp... and they never sent any of them and refused a refund just kept saying they were sending them so I did a paypal case and got a refund.. blooming annoying!! £31 too so not just a few quid.New towels all dry and in the cupboardbulb put in Moomins lamp
Tomorrow I am sorting Dots referral for her assessment.. that actually makes me happy.. and once that is done I am going to start proceedings for an EHCP.. not sure what is happening with the sensory processing referral as not heard anything, but we shall see.. I might send an email actually and see how it is going or IF it is going.
Emptied a box in my room to the shed.. including 6 bottles of whisky which no one drinks.. I put away my summer clothes and found a new cardy with reindeer on.. that made me far too happy!
Pack ups all done while dinner cooked
I seem to have caused a ripple.. Boog is sorting the gubbins from the pit of despair..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)5 -
Crawls silently in brandishing hugs, spoons etc to all in need in these stressful times.
Money-saving well we are trying our best, but quotes from the only people who seem keen to put in our reconditioned range were higher than feared (a bit under 4K), although may just be out of touch with costs. They also did a quote for ditching both old and recon ranges (sob) and putting in a conventional boiler. The quote was almost as much as the other one, plus we'd lose the 1400 which the recon range cost and we'd have to buy a new cooker. Went to look at new cookers, especially as C*rry's had 7% cashback. Mr N was in favour, heart ruling head, of keeping the old system for the lovely warmth of the kitchen when the range is on (and that would mean that if we ditched it for a conventional cooker, we'd have to get a radiator put in the kitchen) but queried some of the cost. So we are waiting for comment from the engineers. Just want it sorted now as the cold weather approaches.
I've done 2 assessments at uni now which were ok but takes a long time to clean/sanitise/sort out paperwork and visors etc before and after. Uni currently has 16 virus cases, gone up from 3 suddenly, so I'm keeping an eye open. Either way I will have earned less and been more inconvenienced in my whole working life since July so decided to apply for the 2nd self-employment support, especially as by the sound of it things are escalating. I live on the Herts/Essex border; uni is in Herts but Essex council are apparently asking to be put on tier 2 so who knows. All the best Pigpen for her assessment.
Mr N and I had a really big flying session this morning, it had all got a bit messy and my brother was lodging again so we dusted/polished/sanitised/vacuumed most rooms.
Almost to the end of tomato picking but still lots of peppers in the greenhouse which are slow ripening. Now freezing apples. I ran down to the 'wild' cooking apple tree which is in the middle of nowhere, on a public footpath, on Sunday and gathered 2 bags full then messaged Mr N to pick me up in the car. Lazily I didn't run the 4.2km home but got a lift with the apples!
Mr T order collected today, they gave me a £10 voucher last time as apparently the pricing thing went wrong.
Did a big shelf-clearing at the weekend in my study; packing and filing report paperwork in the loft - I have to keep the data for 6yrs. Fished out stuff older than that and shredded. So I am very slowly but surely getting my study in better shape.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
And now I got all excited and booked myself and OH a hearing test.. my mother has had hearing loss since she was 13 and has had hearing aids since her late 30's and MIL also has hearing aids, not as powerful as my mothers but OH wants his checking too so we both have appointments like a pair of gerry-hat-tricks.
Email sent to get up to date prices and referral procedures for Dot.. and I think I am ready to start looking in to the EHCP.. maybe.. next week..
Narco .. Could you not sell the range on which you recently purchased?

Good morning
Work all day today. Dinner needs to be dug from the freezer, and I need to think about getting another shop. I was determined that the last one was going to last as long as possible, and, apart from things like milk and bread (and maybe wine 😳), it hasn’t done badly.
I’m tired, just so tired. I think it’s not being able to see an end in sight for anything, and wanting DD so badly to be able to plan for her future at last. I need a severe kick back up.Hugs, sticks and spoons to whoever needs them. Thank goodness for this thread x7 -
Morning all,

So I'm digging out my comfiest (black) work clothes and looking forward to a hot shower and PJs tonight already.Mine and DS bed is made, DD still in hers, need to rectify that! Soup in SC, easy dinners for all tonight.Have fab days all back later xx8
