Just checking in! I am still doing keto but trying carnivore, also dairy-free for a little while to see if that unplugs my plateau. Its only been a week on the Df and the scales have shifted a little but I also started an intense weightlifting programme so it may just be that. All I am doing right now is cruising for yellow sticker meat deals .... the dream would be a pile of yellow sticker steaks, although I did pick up some 19p bacon yesterday. Hope everyone is doing well and able to keep it frugal

re bacon have you tried home bargains who sell large packs of bacon offcuts for approx £1.50.   luckily one of our local shops also does it and we have had thick gammon steaks out of it as well as bits.   i cook a load up and keep it in the fridge for picking at
having gained over a few holidays during 2019/20,  i have now lost all that plus some :)

Hit and miss with me, must make an effort,
I buy Lid1 cooking bacon, think it`s about £1,30 a kilo, you can get packs with gammon steaks, bacon rashers, and bacon steak, usually have a very good use by date too.
Do I need it or just want it.

Really enjoyed the fried veg, radishes are O.K. Salmon was delicious, cooked just a tad over on the thinner part but enjoyed.
Making a paneer curry today, never tried it before, using a jar jalfrezi and loads of veg, Should be 2/3 portions so will freeze excess.

candygirl you can either try cutting down your carbs bit by bit but you will prob suffer withdrawal for longer or go cold turkey and put up with it for a week.    you can get headaches etc when you first give up the carbs but just make sure you eat lots of protein and fat and as you are vegetarian maybe google some veggie low carb sites.  good luck

hanb2 my hubs is diabetic too i put him on lowcarb and he was able to give up his meds within a couple of months :)

I'm just researching it all, n making notes.Going to start when I've got rid of all the carbs in the house .
    Thanks for the advice 🙂

@candygirl I am a serious carnivore so no help at all, as @shykins suggests, research, what is your protein scource now. ?
Belly pork joint today, not enough for 2 meals, will have with steamed cauli and brocc, may fry some radishes too.
